I agree. Our best friends moved to France at the beginning of September. They're living just outside of Bordeaux in a small house. 15 minute walk to town. They're much more relaxed and are very happy they made the move.

I'm pretty surprised considering the economy is in shambles. Lots of people buying winter gear - coats, gloves, socks, etc. The camping section was very busy, too.

Thanks. We are kind of winging it after Acadia. Maybe a bit farther north, so Highway 100 is doable. Maine has been in awful drought for 2 years now. The colors are better than I expected but not as brilliant as some years. There is no way of knowing in time to make plans.

Making the chili on the weekend. But, I roasted the pumpkins and sweet potatoes last night to make a pumpkin pie for a neighbor. Decided to add some of the sweet potato (cutting down on the sugar the recipe called for). Brought it over this morning and they can't stop raving about it! Yummy!

Hi Scott, just checked in at the inn we're staying at in Freeport. I thought people would have checked out today, but nope. I've asked a few people about the Kancamagus and have learned the trees are passed peak. It's still a beautiful ride, so yes, we'll definitely head that way. Went to LL Bean

There are pops of bright color mixed in with a lot of muted tones this year. We're heading to Maine tomorrow morning. We'll drive around NH and Maine for the week but I think everything is passed peak there.
