Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam or Alice in chains.

Image of singer Sarah McLachlan’s album ‘Fumbling Towards Ecstasy’ which is her, on the far left side of the image, with her hand on her chest, looking towards the camera with a hint of a smile on her face.

Picked this up in Paris thinking it was a novel but it just reads like one. It is a brilliant nonfiction historical account of France during the lives of Catherine de Medici and her daughter Marguerite de Valois.

Cover of the book ‘The Rival Queens’ by Nancy Goldstone. Red background has two painted images of the two women the book is about - Catherine de Medici and Marguerite de Valois.

Spotted this on my walk this morning. I keep calling it ‘When seasons collide’ because the snow came early this year. Open to other ideas though.

Fuchsia coloured flower with freshly fallen snow on top of it. Surrounded by the green leaves also with freshly fallen snow snow.

Starting off #TIFF50 a little wet after waiting in line for 30mins in the downpour. Thankfully not as soaked as the women drying their socks and shoes in the washroom at Scotiabank for P&I screenings. ☔️

When art meets resistance: the Global Women, Life, Freedom Film Festival returns to Toronto on September 16.

Photo of the back of a young woman with a peace sign over her head looking out over a city in ruin from a rooftop. There is a camera in the ledge beside her. The poster also includes info about the Women, Life, Freedom film festival including which cities are hosting the fest. Toronto is one of the cities and the location is mentioned (Innis Town Hall on Sept 16 at 7pm)

Tonight I was at a restaurant that had a Sofia Loren movie and then Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra playing in the background. I couldn’t stop glancing over to watch these two film goddesses at their best.

Adorable tabby cat laying on the softest grey blanket getting belly rubs (belly rubs off camera). Looks sleep and happy.

And then you had the ticket as a memory. I still have tickets from my first concert and even some I forgot going to! None of my Apple wallet tickets are in a scrap book or even a drawer. They get deleted.

Proud to have led the impact campaigns for these Canadian Screen Award nominated films! Most think impact producers only work with documentaries but 3 of the 4 films are narrative films!

Four film posters of different films: Plastic People, Darkest Miriam, Look at Me and I Don’t Know Who You Are. Good measure productions is wishing them congratulations on their Canadian Screen Award nominations earlier today.

Morning smile thanks to a friend who hosts an annual Galentine’s brunch (bumped to IWD this year). This was what was left from the day. Feels like spring! 💐

Wooden Table with 4 vases filled with bouquets of different types of pastel coloured flowers - roses, tulips and yellow mimosas! Also some small tea lights and a few sassy coasters.

Rewatching Voyager and this quote from Captain Janeway felt very timely. #StarTrek

Split screen image of a Captain Janeway (actress Kate Mulgrew) with her hair up speaking. Top image she is sitting in the captain’s chair on the deck of the Star Trek Voyager. Bottom image is a close up of her face. There is text on the screen that says “You know, I’m really easy to get along with…most of the time. But I don’t like bullies. And I don’t like threats. And I don’t like you. (season 1, episode 11)

This seems to be moving in the direction @mattgurney.bsky.social keeps suggesting when promoting the ‘ice bucket challenge for national survival’ on The Line podcasts. Dropping the red tape between provinces so we can work and support each other across the country. Makes sense to me.

Agree that it’s hard when facing a hostile crowd but then you need to play to the crowd that is on your ‘side’ and help them, help you.

Can we all agree people need to stop trying to put on a personal ‘flare’ to our anthem when it’s sung at a sports game. We just want to sing along - especially now - without having to stop and start! 🇨🇦
