If you've read The Order of Grimm, you know I like me a found family trope. Ah, the motley crew, that bickers but comes together in the end. Here are some of my favourites. Interestingly, a lot of these are in the fantasy heist genre! #foundfamily #fantasyheist #indieauthor #booksky

please explain why it's legal for a multi-billion dollar corporation to repackage the internet and sell it back to ppl for the cost of the environment, the economy, our privacy, our creativity, our cognition, and our country. yeah. i know. it's bc the crooks pulling the con are billionaires.

People may not know this about me but I'm a nature nut. In fact, it was while crossing the Drake Passage that I conceived my debut novel. So this article about gentoo penguins (which I got to see there) being actually four distinct species is really cool. www.discoverwildlife.com/animal-facts...

This one is a bit more shamelessly promo than normal, but honestly authors, if you want to know that you're working with a human narrator, look for us that have been doing it awhile. #indieauthor #audiobook #narrator #humanvoices #mychoiceisahumanvoice

It's been a while since I posted about my my fantasy heist books and this is a very cute trend I've been meaning to get in on. When people ask what The Order of Grimm is about, I always tell them it's Ocean's Eleven meets Snow White. #indieauthor #fantasyheist #booksky #audiobooks

I know a lot of authors are considering going wide with the new Audible royalty model, so here are a few of the wide distributor options you can choose from. Of course, one of the best channels you can use, is your own website Got any questions for me? Reach out! #indieauthors #audiobooks #booksky

I posted this on Threads, but I should say this here too. In light of the new D2D AI narration news, this is just a quick reminder that according to the Audio Publishers Association listener willI guess to try AI narrations dropped 9% and only 16% have ever even listened to AI audiobooks. #booksky

Last March at ECCC I met Winter Hansen. I was there for Grimm but she learned I narrated Rakesfall which she was listening to at the time. Cut to 6 months later, we have an audiobook of her new book, narrated by myself and my long-time pal Pearl Hewitt. This is the Magic of human audio. #narrator

Did I go on a deep dive into how Victorian era dockyards work for a throwaway scene to keep my characters occupied, which is now twice as long as planned? Oh yes! I can't say that book 3 will feature the dockyards much, but at least now I Know the term "lumper". #indieauthor #books #fantasyheist

Sooo, as a narrator, I am obviously all for human voices. With that said, if you're an author doing a kickstarter for the audiobook, send it my way and I will attempt to amplify the message. #humanvoices #narrator #indieauthor

Why are audiobooks to expensive to make? Are they expensive? What are the hidden costs and benefits? I've seen too many people talk about paying $100-200PFH for an aduiobook, which is ridiculously low. Here's where that money goes. #indieauthor #audiobooks #narrator

I bet you rocked that panel! At last year's World Con they had me on an AI and Creativity panel, but all the other guests had Doctorates in the subject. I was a little out of my depth, but you actually have researched this stuff.

I've had a few authors this week talk about how they've made an audiobook but it's not selling as much as they expected. So I thought now would be a good time to look at audiobook sales. Got any other questions for me related to audiobook production? #narrator #indieauthor #audiobooks

Yes! I had that thought about 3/4 of the way through. 😂 How do you handle fight scenes. I have a similar issue where I feel like I need track exactly where my character is in the fight. I know it's not necessary, but I'd hate to have someone go "wait, but you just said..."

Okay, so I did another 1100 or so words. A lot of stopping and starting because it's an action scene and I keep having to remind myself where everyone is at. Why did I decide it was a good idea to start book 3 with a James Bond-style action sequence? #booksky #fantasyheist #writerlife

I just re-read The Butcher of the Forest by Premee Mohamed. I first read it two years ago, and loved it enough that I bought a shelf trophy. When I found out it was released in audiobook format since then, I got super excited and scampered over to Libby!
