Bring back proper games journalism.

Screengrab from a 2021 Slate article headlined An Interview with the Guy Who Yells Mortal Kombat in the the Theme for Mortal Kombat. The subheading is Nearly three decades later he's still got it. The byline is Matthew Dessem.

The featured text is the form of a Q and A.

I see. Will you do it over the phone?

Would I do it over the phone? Absolutely.

Let's hear it.

'Tree in the Sun.' (1900) From 1885 onwards Emile Claus developed a style of painting that came to be characterized as ‘luminism’; a personal form of Belgian late Impressionism, with a particular emphasis on light effects and colour.

Giovanni Boldini's depiction of the painter, Lawrence Alexander 'Peter' Harrison (1902) is among the most distinguished and sophisticated of his male portraits and is in keeping with the great portrait traditions of Gainsborough and Reynolds with its subtle elegance and grace.

this painting was mainly made with the various oil knife tools they have. it def made me focus more abt where to lay down each brush stroke, which may have been why i initially had some trouble.

venus @shinyvenusaur.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

as for my actual impressions i think the render engine is rlly intriguing and i LOVE LOVE the blend tool and the way that it works (u can turn any tool into blend kinda like procreate and adjust paint load which is interesting)

venus @shinyvenusaur.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

theres a whole ton of settings i need to learn obvs, but i already have a “traditional-ish” workflow so it kinda came more naturally to me imo. i still think its clunky compared to my GOAT csp but that might just be on me not optimizing it or whatever.
