real alphas don't use feral souls #ffxiv #dawntrail

Parody of the exploitable image format "Things to say when meeting her dad". FFXIV default character "Meteor Survivor" in his "Dawntrail" look (slicked back hair, stubble, wearing a Viper's outfit) stands in front of a black background, arms crossed and with a stern expression, rendered entirely in black and white. To his left is a large heading in white and red text (colored section marked with asteriks) reading "THINGS TO SAY *WHEN VISITING SOLUTION 9*". Below is a list of presumed statements with some words colored in for unclear reasons:
• Where do you keep the *electrope*
• which *sentry* do you trust the least
• what are your intentions with *tural*
• welcome to the *source*
• i brought my own *aether*
• Do you accept *gil* here?
• sell me this *resonator*
• name 10 *dead people*
• let me speak to the *soul cells* directly

I had a super-duper excellent time at the Dance of the Earthmother event tonight. Don't normally get to stay up RPing until 2am, but it was fulfilling and worth it! Helped a lot giving Yoirri a reason to be there, and she might have made a new friend!

Ty'at Kab'an loves Xbr'aal wrestling, unfortunately she doesn't get to tussle in the ring with her kin as often as she'd like. Fortunately the few bandits in Kozama'uka that are still around are free, you can just pick them up and bodyslam them whenever you want! (He'll be fine tomorrow, promise!)

Ty'at Kab'an, a red tiger woman, has propelled herself and a Hhetsarro bandit up into the sky and is about to bodyslam the poor guy. He must have been carrying a torch earlier to light the way at night, as it's falling into the foreground, illuminating their wild expressions as they make their terrifying descent!

This endeavor also (re)introduced me to the Lost Arvillo. Blew it off as a non-dragonriding way to get around the isle, but there's actually little events happening on it, also surfing, drinking, and sunbathing too! It's pretty neat! (Gotta coerce the guild into having a tavern night here)

A screenshot from WoW of the Lost Arvillo as it swims around the Dragon Isles. This "boat" is actually a giant sea turtle named Arvillo, who appears to be coaxed along with a carrot on a fishing line. At the tip of the fishing rod stands Yoirri, looking over the sea.

A pod of dolphins is swimming alongside them.

One of the new housing endeavors showed up in my public neighborhood today: Tortollans! Lots of activities involving chilling out and underwater bar crawling. Despite the buff and the castbar, Yoirri doesn't look very relaxed 😟

A video game screenshot of "Relaxing - This is the life." - A 10 minute buff from World of Warcraft

A closeup of Yoirri the vulpera sitting on a bathing mat, her intense stare at the viewer runs counter to the "Relaxing" castbar underneath her.

After the connectivity issues last week, I forgot to share this! 2008 HGUC Geara Doga. A fun out-of-box build, looks good even without the yellow inside the thruster bells. It's the second oldest kit on my shelf now!

A photo of the High Grade model kit of the Geara Doga from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack. It's standing in an all-white space looking at the viewer, equipped with its shield and beam rifle.

The same model kit in a dynamic flying pose, it's pointing the beam rifle at an off-screen foe.

The same model, standing on the ground with it's shield raised, and it's beam tomahawk primed to chop at an incoming enemy.

A close-up of the previous pose, a filter over the image adds extra saturation to the olive green of the model kit, and highlights the bright pink mono-eye.

Two of my RP mains in XIV and WoW are long-lived and have colorful pasts, met lots of people. So, during my breaks at work, I've been writing down all the RP-NPCs and fanon organizations they're related to in order to help me keep the facts straight when/if I ever bring them up in RP.

I think one of the best pieces of advice I can give to new players who /want/ to build lore for their characters but don’t know where to start is: Incorporate pieces of the game that you enjoy and that pull you in. Start there and fill in the details as you go.

I went to ToA with my guild tonight! Normally an event with that many people would freeze me up, but having friends to fall back on helped a lot. It was incredibly fun, like a convention for Roleplay, and I hope to come back while it's still going this week.

It's 2026, I've been roleplaying for over 15 years now I think... And I am still terrible at big group combat roleplay. So many people, so many posts, even with the simplest systems - so much dice rolling. Ugh!

Forgot to mention that I finished GW2's story (just the base game). Visually, the flight on the airship in a sea of clouds while lesser dragons and other airships fought, and Zhaitan themself, were all really cool! Mechanically, probably my least favorite part of the game.
