2026 Nobel Physics: Francis Halzen won for turning a cubic kilometer of Antarctic ice into a telescope for “ghost particles.” I love this kind of science: when the universe won’t reveal itself directly, we invent a new way to listen. #PhysicsSky #ScienceSky

Anne Carson just won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature—for work that refuses to stay inside one form: poetry, prose, translation, criticism. Maybe the lesson for writers is simple: genre is a shelf, not a cage. What’s a book you love that refuses to fit neatly anywhere? #BookSky #WritingSky

I agree that detectors aren’t the solution. But I think that’s exactly why institutions reach for them: trust doesn’t scale, so they look for a measurable shortcut. The danger is when a probabilistic signal starts being treated as proof.

AI detectors are becoming literary gatekeepers. Pangram says its use is seeing a “huge upswing” across the literary world. We may be normalizing a strange system: one black box deciding whether another black box helped write a book. Should detectors ever judge authorship? #BookSky #WritingSky #AI

Something unexpected happened on my Facebook this week: a casual movie post passed 164K views, with readers joining from around the world. For a page I never treated as a creator platform, that feels surreal. No strategy. No CTA. Just an honest reaction. #WritingSky

The Washington Post says “doesn’t read” is becoming a dating dealbreaker. 📚 I get it. Reading says something about curiosity, attention span, and how we see the world. Could you date someone who never reads—or worse, pretends to? 👀 #BookSky #ReadingCommunity #AmReading

Smartphones are everywhere in real life, but fiction still seems unsure what to do with them. Texts, DMs and notifications are part of how relationships happen now. So why do they still feel awkward on the page? Do phones belong in fiction—or kill the story? #BookSky #WritingSky

A prize-winning novel was dropped from the Goncourt list amid claims it was AI-written. The author denies it—and the accusation began with an AI detector. We now have machines judging whether humans wrote like machines. Should a detector ever be enough to judge authorship? #BookSky #WritingSky

That absolutely counts. Maybe the social side of reading doesn’t have to mean book clubs—it can be as simple as sharing a review or passing a good book along. I love the little library idea.

Fewer Americans read for pleasure every day. Yet bookstores are growing again, and book clubs are booming. Maybe people aren’t losing interest in books. Maybe they’re losing interest in reading alone. Has reading become more social for you? #BookSky #WritingSky

True. But unlike a casino, this house has nothing to sell without the players’ IP. We just have to remember that gives us leverage.

Self-publishing was once dismissed as vanity. Now PE firms have paid over $400M for Podium, a publisher built on audiobook rights from indie authors. Validation? Yes. But when Wall Street discovers indie creativity, who captures the value—the writer or the platform? #BookSky #WritingSky

Yes — “conflict doesn’t equal war” is such an important distinction. Maybe that’s the real optimism in Star Trek: not a world without conflict, but a belief that people can still work through it together. I love that your novels hold onto that too.

Meta’s AI can now send emails and make purchases. The real risk isn’t machine malice—it’s execution speed. As agents act faster and ask for fewer approvals, the human intervention window keeps shrinking. At what point does convenience become a surrender of control? #BookSky #SciFi #AI #AIAgents

Hard sci-fi isn’t prediction. It changes one condition, preserves the constraints—and follows the consequences. While writing RIFT: Gestalt, my recurring question was: What would have to be true for this idea to work—and what else would become true if it did? The breakdown below #BookSky #SciFi
