As a 40 year old black woman born and raised in the United States; we have never celebrated it either. We wore black Minnie and Mickey Mouse shirts while celebrating Juneteenth. But we’re from Texas so we’ve always celebrated Juneteenth. Never the 4th. I celebrated it for the 1st time in college.
