Two years ago, St Mary's church, Somers Town, faced closure and possible demolition. Now, the scaffolding has been removed from its newly restored west front. In 2024, the Victorian Society spoke out strongly against closure and demolition, urging that another future be found. 🧵 📷 Connor McNeill

We're opening our own listed building as part of this year’s @opencity-uk.bsky.social. We are based in Bedford Park in Chiswick. The building is Grade II, built in 1880, and designed by E. J. May. We are just a few mins walk from Turnham Green tube. Drop-in between 11.00 am & 4.15 pm on 12th Sept 🧵

Despite a Section 215 notice having been issued by Kirklees Council requiring the owner to make the former Oakes School watertight and carry out essential structural repairs, no apparent works appear to have taken place. It continues to deteriorate. Placed on our Top 10 Endangered Buildings in 2026.

En Plein Air 25 - 'Netherthorpe Road View' andycropper.art/paintings for availability So different to last night. I loved painting this. This is one of the busiest roads into and out of Sheffield, and pollution-wise you can tell. My throat after several hours of breathing there was hoarse as hell.

'Crossroads - Amber Glow' A night that stayed with me. The sky burned orange from Bramall Lane stadium. The street was quiet, suspended, holding an eerie unexplainable tension. I painted it because the moment would not let go. If you know of or have a night like this, maybe I can paint yours.
