In case anyone wondered why I was suddenly not Djing for a week, I was in the hospital. I typed up a health update as best I could. No more gallbladder for this bug #health #surgery

Health update
This all started from food poisoning I got at Olive Garden. It took a week to get over that but I still had pain that I thought was gastritis. I was dumb and did what I usually do when I have gastritis, I waited for it to go away, it did not. So on 8/20/26 I finally gave in (hubs had wanted me to go earlier) and went to urgent care. They found that my gallbladder was infected and inflamed and I had to have surgery to remove it. They could not get it all out because it was so inflamed it was sticking to other organs. I had to have a second surgery on 8/23/26 where they went down my throat and put a stent in my bile duct so it wouldn’t get clogged. They couldn’t do the second surgery at the first hospital I was at (Mint Hill) so they transferred me in an ambulance. The EMT’s were very nice but they blew 4 of my veins out on the 20 minute drive to Presbyterian, I look like I got in a fight and lost my arms are so black and blue.
We finally made it home on the 24th. I still have a drain in my side and I really don’t like it but I know it is nessisary. I was told to not bend or pick up things while I heal, which is fine, because even small bends hurt right now.

More Deets
The medical staff at both hospitals were kind and reasurring the whole time.

The night after the first surgery my pain levels shot up to at least 8, they actually had to give me morphine. I hope I never have to have that ever again, it takes the pain away but it made my chest feel really heavy.

I also learned that SNS powder nail polish reflects the finger oxygen sensor thing, they ended up putting one on my ear and it got all tangled in my hair before we left.

Up until the day of discharge they had me on an all clear diet and I never want to see another bowl of broth for as long as I live. I am on soft foods now, which is way better.

This was the longest I have been away from Mr. Pickles and when we first got home he acted like he didn’t know me, but he is now stuck to me like glue and being a very gentle baby.

Hubby has been amazing through all of this and I don’t think I could have gotten through it without him, I have the best hubby.
