We’ve told you that Jews are a people, a nation — in Hebrew, an “Am” — that HAS a “religion”, but isn’t defined by its beliefs. You don’t seem interested, even though it’s something that (A) even the most cursory research would tell you and (B) is vital to understanding ANYTHING about Israel.

Jews are, in fact a people. An ethnoreligious group very similar to an indigenous American tribe, albeit more scattered in the diaspora for historical reasons. Jewish atheists are still Jewish.

This is not my argument. My argument is that because of the situation Israelis were in, they were MUCH more willing to endure such things, because the alternative was Israelis being subjected to intolerable violence. (Hell, they’d BEEN enduring PTSD — for a whole generation of kids in Sderot.)
