New movies I've watched this week include Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma, It Ends, Buddy and The Uprising. Mostly decent tbh.

Reviews for eps 4-6 of #AHS13 are up. - Jessica Lange as that British PM was priceless. - Ben's backstory was actually interesting. Ashley's also manipulating him. - Coven witches Vs. Cortez Devils was the highlight. - Pacing could be better but stronger episodes this week

Seventh episode of Lanterns was a good backstory one for Hal. Looking forward to the finale.

First three episodes reviews for #AHS13 are up. - Ben DeSoto really doesn't like 13, huh? - Mr. Nas is clearly the Devil in need of sacrifices to regain his strength and youth. - Constance Langdon cannot be trusted. - Need more of the Coven ladies. - Tate vs. Kai is so much fun to watch.

Sixth episode review of Lanterns is up. Nice appearances from Guy and Carol. John changed in a decade and I'm not convinced Hal is really dead.

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story review is up on my blog and Letterboxd now. Ella Beatty is good as Borden but Vicky Krieps on her dual roles did steal the show. I'm more mixed on Sarah Paulson's version of Aileen Wuornos.

Fifth episode of Lanterns review is up. Surely that's the 2016 timeline done? Now let's get back to John and Hal in 2026.

000

Shawn Lunn @shawnlunn2002.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

I'll be watching #BBUK more sporadically this series but it does seem to have a decent mix of people in there so far. I'm also concerned this might be the last ITV series but we'll see.

Fourth episode review of Lanterns is up. Everyone really wants John and Hal not to be friends, huh? That Zoe reveal was kind of obvious and William had his Irene Adler moment.

Found The Whisper Man (2026) pretty dull tbh. Adam Scott and Robert DeNiro couldn't save it.

Currently watching Hitchcock's adaptation of Juno And The Paycock. First time watch i might add.

000

Shawn Lunn @shawnlunn2002.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

The Runner kind of works if you treat it like an unintended comedy. As an action thriller, it's very middle of the road.

000

Shawn Lunn @shawnlunn2002.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Coyote Vs. Acme is so good. Even a little emotional might I add.

Dolly Parton. The one celebrity you're not allowed to hate or even mildly dislike. I actually cannot believe she's passed away but what a legend in every sense of the word.

I'm cool with those castings for X-Men. None are bad to me. VisionQuest looks good. I can see Ruaridh Mollica becoming a new fan favourite. Avengers: Doomsday will be a hit but the trailers have felt like they're missing something.

Adding to new releases, I've watched both Soulm8te (predictable but charming enough) and The Invite (chaotic but worth a watch).

House Of The Dragon finale review is up. Fucking hell, Rhaenyra went full Mad Queen in this one. Ormund's death was kind of fitting. Poor Helaena. Loved the Aegon and Aemond reunion. Season 4 really needs to stick the landing.

I watched the first two episodes of The Shards the other day. Maybe it'll improve as it goes along but it feels a bit flat at the moment. Looks great, visually but lacking in other ways.

Not surprised but am annoyed the Troy and Harris casting for Heated Rivalry Season 2 has generated some awful takes. These fans are determined to be the absolute worst under the guise of activism/concern etc.

Saw Spider-Man: Brand New Day (review is up) and it's really great. Tom Holland gets to really show his talents and Sadie Sink is incredible as that character. Zendaya even gets some great scenes and the Punisher is a fun foil/ally to Spider-Man. See it quickly if you can to avoid being spoiled.

000

Shawn Lunn @shawnlunn2002.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

House Of The Dragon really gave Criston an anticlimactic death on purpose, Rhaena the Meg Griffin treatment, Rhaenyra cutting herself, a puking Ormund, outed Gwayne and Daemon undercover until he wasn't. Oh and a Vermithor and Silverwing bond.
