Did a figure drawing class last week. It was a lot of fun. I didn't like any of my 1 or 5 minute drawings, but here's the 15 and 20 minutes paintings. Pretty rough, but I like what I managed in a short time.

I got interrupted and couldn't quite finish this one. I'm really happy with the face texture and eyes, but the hair needed some more time. #painting #portrait #sketch

It’s not simply doing this, or doing it without congressional approval, or doing it without explanation of risks, or doing it without declaration of war, or doing it on behalf of an ally mid-genocide. It’s the fickleness that suggests what’s to come. Rule, war, death by his whim.

Wanted to try some smaller paintings. This is on the same size page as the others divided in 9 sections. I also liked how the light was hitting the page. #painting #art #portrait

Small black and white painting of a woman from the neck up. A beam of light us falling across the page.

Here's an attempt painting more of the body. I'm happy with it. Particularly how the hair covers her face. #art #painting #portrait

Black and white painting of a woman in a one piece lingerie made of lace with a deep neckline. She is also wearing a sheer wrap around her waist. She has shoulder length blond hair that is falling in front of her face. The painting ends just above her knees.

I like all the parts of this one, but they don't quite fit together for me. I think it's mostly that I messed up the head shape. #art #portrait #painting

Another try painting on wood. This is the same fence board but with gesso. Way easier to paint on, but it's definitely a different feel. #art #painting #cat

I was trying out different surfaces. This is an old fence board with no undercoat at all. I like the result, but painting directly on something so absorbent was a huge pain. #art #portrait #painting

Black and white painting h if a woman from the neck up looking forward. Painted on an old, weathered piece of wood.

Here's one of my dog Groose who recently passed away. I painted it a while ago, and his snout was longer that it looks here (ran out of room), so I'll probably do a new one soon to hang up. #painting #dog #doberman #art

This is the opposite page from the last one. Also painted on vacation. I don't like the overall image as much here, but I'm really happy with the rendering style. Also the camera brings out the warmth of the paper in an interesting way that isn't as visible in person. #art #painting #portrait

I painted this one on vacation, and I love it. It has my favorite brushstrokes quality of any so far. I also really like how the extra shapes finish the image. #art #painting #portrait

Black and white painting of a woman from the shoulders up. Her eyes are closed, and her hair is pulled back into 3 small buns. There are some stray brushstrokes on the page, and one in the top left looks like a tree branch and leaf. The painting is in a sketchbook, and a thumb is visible on the left holding the page in place.

I really like this one. The face is a bit flat, and the eyes are a bit uneven, but the feel of the brushstrokes is right where I want it. #art #painting #portrait

Really happy with this one. Looking at it now, the hair is way more Wolverine-y than I remember though. #art #painting #portrait

This one is okay, but all I can see when I look at it is how I messed up the hat seam on the left side. #art #paintin #portrait

I like how visible the texture and brushstrokes are on this one. The hair needed more work, but it would have blown the 1 hr time limit to go into each braid. #art #portrait #painting

I did a series of 1 hr portrait sketches in black and white acrylic a while ago. I originally posted then to cohost, but I'll put them here now I guess and eventually get to current work. #art #painting #portrait
