Craft beer drinkers tend to favor the small, out of the way places as though more difficult access equals better beer all by itself. A rebuttal: Breakside Brewery with multiple locations and Regional Brewery distribution, still cranking out showstoppers. GALA IPA 7%

Grains of Wrath w/ Holy Mountain Blessings of the Highest Order IPA 7% A crisp, dry, and expressive IPA befitting the 2 breweries involved. The artwork really grabbed me: I don’t collect enamel pins, but I think a big ass pin of this guy would be cool. #bskybeer #beersky #beer

Bissell Brothers Swish IIPA 8% An outstanding Hazy Imperial with mango, peach, and melon notes that’s lush and full but finishes dry and snappy. I think this is the first Bissell distribution drop in Bend. Would be very happy to have this pop up occasionally. #bskybeer #beersky #beer

With apologies to @jeski.bsky.social, this is my kind of IIPA; big hop aroma and bracing bitterness on a malt foundation that knows how to carry its 9% but otherwise stay out of the way for the hops. I hope the rest of the 4pk fulfills its promise.

Boneyard Beer Rum BA Painkiller Stout At 15% and rum BA, I was expecting this to be crazy hot. It’s not invisible, but it’s well hidden. The bar at the Boneyard pub has a thick leather cushion on the edge that all but invites leaning in for conspiratorial discussions with the bartender. #BskyBeer

Terranaut Beer in Bend, OR has smooth lighting, smooth decor, and this Smooth Music Kölsch-style ale (in addition to actual smooth music on vinyl). In a town with 20-ish breweries, claiming a unique identity can be difficult. They’ve done it through their beer and their tasting room.

Visited the tasting room at Sunriver Brewing and got a firkin pour of their Cocoa Cow Chocolate Milk Stout with added candy canes. It surprises me more breweries don’t do this: fill a firkin with a regular production beer and jazz it up with add’l flavors. Low cost/risk, great way to add variety.
