POSTCARDS FOR DEMOCRACY! Local races are often decided by a few hundred votes. A handwritten card from a neighbor can make the difference. It doesn't matter what district you live in; Metro Council makes decisions for our city, so we need them all to be great. Sun, Oct. 4, 1 pm, Locals Pizza Hub

Wednesday, it didn't matter that it was hot. We spent rush hour putting our message in front of hundreds of cars. This is what standing up looks like: impossible to ignore. Join us Sun, Oct 4 at 1 pm at Locals to write postcards in support of McCraney and Hettiaratchi's Metro Council campaigns.

No Easy Fix: Even advanced cooling tech (like liquid immersion) forces a dead-end trade-off: you either save energy but waste massive amounts of water or save water and drain the power grid.

The "Tax Break" Myth: The tax incentives do NOT deliver high-paying jobs. Instead, they dry up local tax revenues and shift the heavy financial burdens directly onto our communities and public schools.

Higher Electric Bills: Data centers drive up overall energy demand, straining the local power grid. To keep up, utility companies build costly new infrastructure and guess who pays? You do!

What happens when a data center moves into your community?  A report from the University of Michigan’s Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program shows that when big tech comes to town, local communities get left holding the bag.

New Sharp Objects newsletter is out — and it covers so much: Americans being detained, Marc Elias winning in court, Liz Oyer on Trump's fake emergencies, AND a Louisville canvassing opportunity on Sept 13. A lot is wrong. Here's what we can do about it. app.robly.com/archive?id=a...

3. Mandate facilities to continuously recycle their water instead of draining millions of gallons from our local water supply. 4. Ensure tech companies are legally and financially responsible for cleaning up their sites, so taxpayers aren't left with toxic industrial waste or empty concrete shells.

WHAT WE’RE DEMANDING IN THE NEXT 6 MONTHS: Protect families and home values from constant industrial cooling noise. Clear data on how utility bills will be affected. Require facilities to recycle water continuously. Ensure we aren’t left holding the bag for toxic cleanup or abandoned empty shells.

Metro Council voted NO to a crucial one-year pause on new data centers. Instead of taking a year to protect our community, they approved a compressed six-month pause. Six months isn’t enough time to get this right. And we can’t let them waste a single day.

Voting for Democrats in November is the only way to stop the Republican assault on older Americans and hold the GOP accountable. A healthy democracy must protect the economic security of its seniors. But reckless Republican policies are weakening programs older Americans worked decades to earn.

She has been kept for nearly a week without her vital, prescribed medications. During a phone call from the detention center on July 28, Sarafinah told her brother that her heart was “racing out of her chest,” her urine was “dark like blood,” and her vomit looked “like pink meat.”

ICE isn't something that just happens in other cities. It's happening in our city, to our neighbors. On 7/22/26, local nursing studen Sarafinah Bukirwa, who has sickle cell anemia, was detained by ICE at the Louisville airport. Her detention came just one day after she was hospitalized.

Greenberg says he supports planning code amendments, but he hasn’t publicly commented on the strength of the initial proposed amendments or the newly proposed amendments, which still don’t go far enough (e.g. data centers up to 500,000 square feet are still allowed).

Sharp Objects 502 @sharpobjects502.bsky.social · 26/07/2026
This is another example of Greenberg's lack of transparency. He won't even meet with No Data Center 502 about the Campground Road Hyperscale Data Center (and other data centers on the way) that will suck up as much power in one month as 400K homes, causing skyrocketing utility bills and pollution.

Mayor Greenberg must not trust Louisvillians. Shameka Parrish-Wright does. When it comes to the Flock surveillance cameras, Greenberg thinks you shouldn't know where they are. Meanwhile, Shameka demanded transparency. She wants camera locations published online like they do in Lexington, KY.

Yesterday, SCOTUS greenlit the deportation of 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians who have been living and working legally in this country. These are people who came here because America promised safety. That promise was shredded yesterday. This isn't border policy. This is cruelty with a gavel.
