Yes, although we don't generate electricity with fossil fuels here in BC, the laws of thermodynamic efficiiency mean that centralized power generation usimg fossil fuels generates less emissions and reduces costs below those of home oil and gas furnaces, just as it does with vehicles..

Why anyone continues to heat with fossil fuels is beyond me, especially here in British Columbia where we have some of the lowest electricity rates in the world. But it does seem to be a la k of understanding of modern heat pump efficiency.

Had occasion to read the Declaration of Independence yesterday after reading a claim that it confirmed the US was a Christian nation. It doesn't, but I never realized the list of grievances against the Crown including allowing the practice of Catholicism in Quebec. Seems very un-Christian.
