There is one little trick that help reading small icon shapes. You add outer glow to the icon layer but with color on normal blending mode. I use it all the time on my icons and text

In Shards of Order, each card you play reduces every enemy’s cooldown by that card’s time value. When their timer hits 0 > they strike. Would you risk playing expensive cards… knowing every move brings their turn closer? #TutorialTuesday #indiegame #deckbuilder
