A reminder that you don’t need to be content machines as creatives You don’t need to chase all the trends Making reels and videos helps sure, but if you’re not the type there are other ways to be engaging You don’t need to make a new post everyday, you can repost some old stuff you’re proud of

I want to thank you everyone who made this the best charity concert I've ever done. We raised $1200 for the Lupus Foundation and that feels so good. Lupus means so much to me as someone that has it and has lost my Mother to it. Raising now over 21k for this cause hits differently.

Today is Sakura Wars' 30th anniversary, and you'd better believe that we're ready for it. 🥰 Researcher Rai Kanada explored the series and its depictions of queerness and queer survival, with a focus on the relationship between Maria and Ayame. It's a great read, and we hope you enjoy it #SakuraWars

Arming the Heart with Steel: How Sakura Wars Explores Structural Queer Survival

Taken together, these practices suggest that Sakura Wars’s non-normativity lies not simply in its characters or its romantic possibilities, but in its broader refusal of conventional hierarchies of gender, intimacy, and economic value.

#SakuraWars 30th Anniversary Statements from the Host & Creative Director of RADIOSAKURA.LIVE. Tune in to the Hanagumi Hits at radiosakura.live #サクラ大戦 #SakuraTaisen

Dear Listeners,

Today is a very special day for our community, as the Sakura Wars franchise approaches its 30th anniversary. We have no specials prepared for today, but I want to give some words for what this day means to me, and explain the origin of our fan project.

I picked up Sakura Wars at a low point in my life. I was ready to give up on my creative ambitions and leave the internet for good. A friend of mine was a huge fan of the series, and told me to burn a CD of Sakura Taisen for Sega Saturn.

At the time, my console was faulty and I almost stopped playing Saturn games entirely. Sakura Taisen opened a new world of visual storytelling, and I couldn’t stop playing through all Christmas break into the new year. It was the same magic that got me into SEGA games as a kid.

The soundtrack of the series, composed by Kohei Tanaka, gave me comfort in a time when everything seemed helpless, and allowed me to recover and move forward.

After a few months, I started testing internet radio hosting, and debuted RADIOSAKURA.LIVE on May 21st, 2025. I met Creative Direcor Noah soon after, and we began collaborating to make this project what it is today.

Since then, I’ve started my adult life in earnest, keeping all my personal commitments, and beginning an overdue gender transition. I am busier but happier now more than ever.

I created this project so that Sakura Wars can have the recognition it deserves outside its home country — for popularizing the multimedia aspect of anime/game series, and having such a personal impact on me to continue being creative and authentic to myself.

I hope that you enjoy the Sakura Wars series and our fan project, today and for many years to come.

-Elzi (Lord Zillion)
Host & Creator, RADIOSAKURA.LIVE

Everyone has that one thing that brings them comfort, their escape from the world that’s their little happy place when things get too overwhelming, it’s good to have. Sakura Wars is that for me. (...)

To me the most resonant thing has always been the characters. They’re who we come back to again and again with this franchise, they’re the lens in which we experience it and what we take away from it, and Sakura Wars is the kind of series where every single character is somebody’s favorite, which I think is a sign of true brilliance. They even helped me discover things about myself I would have never known otherwise.

Sakura Shinguji as a character and Chisa Yokoyama’s wonderful performance have impacted me so thoroughly and significantly that I now consider Sakura my favorite fictional character of all time. Seeing so many traits I can immediately recognize and empathize with (...) She is the perfect protagonist for a series as optimistic as Sakura Wars. (...) She reminds me that, even if you think you are at your lowest point or you don’t know how to come to terms with yourself, there is always a way you can, always a way to be strong and show others your love.

Thank you Oji Hiroi for creating such a beautiful, positive franchise that continues to shine to this day. You have made a landmark on Japanese culture, you have impacted so many lives and you’ve inspired so many people, including myself. Thank you to the wonderful cast and crew of Sakura Wars for not only realizing this vision but also making it something truly unique to yourselves as well. The community you have created lives on to this day, and by working on Radio Sakura, I am so happy to be able to contribute in any way to the legacy of this franchise with my wonderful friend Elzi and our remarkably talented team.

I wish the best for this franchise and all involved in it (...) Oh, and I want a new anime please!!!!

In preparation for Sakura Wars the Stage: Seiden TSURUGI being streamed tomorrow, we have decided to translate some promotional glossaries to explain terms you will encounter in the show tomorrow! We hope you enjoy!

Blades of Truth:
Sacred artifacts, said to grant the power to destroy countries to those who gather all ten. They are called "blades" but inhabit many different forms; each Blade of Truth carries its own unique ability.

The Blades currently rest in safe hands, but their origins, history, and reason for creation remain unknown.

The Wolf Ronin:
This mysterious organization seems to have appeared out of nowhere. It terrorizes Kyoto through its Sword Hunt, causing great unrest and chaos as it targets famous swords throughout the city.

Spirits of Death:
The leaders of the mysterious Wolf Ronin, these people possess power far beyond that of an ordinary human. They oppose Asagi and the others, but hold the key to winning a new battle. Their true forms and motives remain a mystery.

The Secret Three Houses:
These families have been protecting Japan from the shadows for generations. They have inherited the sacred Vanquishing Power, which has been used many times to fight back against and banish evil.

The three families are known as the Shinguj, Hayato, and Todo houses; however, in recent years it seemed only the Shingujis had inherited the Vanquishing Power.

Arashiyama Romando:
A store located in Kyoto's Arashiyama district, by the Katsura River. It's run by Ziying He (manager) and Asagi Todo (store clerk). Their most valued customer, Shirahime Okita, constantly buys the charming goods that Asagi dutifully restocks.

Next to the counter, there is a small stage for performances, currently unused.
