With documentaries, the weird factor is often not measured in the moviemaking as much as it is in the subject of the movie. So it goes with this one, following a monomaniac who shields his nuttiness behind scholarship. For the Einstein fan, it might be a disappointment.

Just got back from a screening myself. My understanding was that Brody negotiated with the government to pay Indy to retrieve the Ark ahead of the Nazis. Part of that deal is that the college gets the Ark when the U.S. is done with it (which, of course, they have no intention of being).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: anyone who manages to cobble together a script and a cast, who captures those words on film or video, and edits them into a complete feature has accomplished something remarkable. By this standard, DAYMAKER is a huge achievement. And I’ll stop there.
