I'm with you on Unifi, their stuff is highly locked down and controlled by them, the day it stops working flawlessly you're suddenly screwed. I have a pile of their stuff in a corner, now just dead weight. I switched to opnsense for the main router, still need to find good APs.

Die Trying has a second main character right from the start, so the difference immediately jumped out at me. I would also not be surprised if he stopped doing that much of a jackhammer writing, this is a very early book.

I was just rereading Book 2 last night, and I noticed that it's written in extremely short, clipped sentences, whenever it's focused on Reacher. Other people and scenes he's not in get longer sentences and actual commas, while Reacher is written like a metronome keeping pace.

Yeah, they seem to have no problem with the other list I have for non-ai garbage humans (it's important to differentiate the type of garbage, helps with the recycling). I suspect a data scientist dude I added the other day got upset about the notification and complained 🤷‍♀️

I did want to have this list private. It's basically a note-taking list for me, since I can't add notes to accounts to figure out why I've muted or blocked them. So, hey, cool, thanks bsky, that's a useful feature! Could we have that feature available for general use instead? That would be nice.

The best part of it is, I can still use the list! I can add people to it, and if they're subscribed to a bot that notifies them when they get added to lists, they'll still get notified! Nothing has changed! Except that now when I look at *my* list I get this hilarious notice. Amazing, just the best.

This was an extremely hilarious email to get from bsky! It's my list, for my use. There's no way to make a private list, and the only way you'd know you've been added to it is if you subscribe to a bot that tells you. But somehow my personal list is offensive to others and they CAN make it private.

You probably don't care about this and computers were certainly a mistake, but the reason the game was stuttery and unplayable when you first started it was because it was compiling shaders for your gpu. This happens only once when the shaders need to be used for the first time and it's sloooowww.

Also I'm slowly grinding my way through writing up the tier list for all 420 characters again, and if you haven't played much/any of the game and are wondering how deep some of the characters go (surely I didn't with having so many after all), here's Void Child Inquisitor Ufuoma

Ufuoma is S tier, but that's partly because of their unique skill. Firstly, we have to talk about Void Child stats and some of the sort of secret lore of the game. They get low Hp and Mp, but very low Mp costs, +125% Armor, and immunity to critical hits. Vulnerable to DoTs, but pretty resistant to burst damage and easy to use. Since they're immune to critical hits, Ufuoma doesn't have Condemn to apply guaranteed crits to an enemy or themself. Instead they have Foreordain. Foreordain deals damage to all enemies based on Ufuoma's own Armor stat, which again, is more than double most characters, but there's a catch. When using it, if there's more than one enemy, Ufuoma debuffs themself with an Armor -50% penalty. What's not in the description is that if there IS only one enemy, Ufuoma actually gains a 30% Armor buff. If you hover over the buff icon it'll say flavortext about it being an Ippwidden Chapel service. There's two armor items that relate to this, the Ippwidden Chapel Chalice that gives Devotion and Armor when only one enemy remains, and the Ippwidden Chapel Headband that buffs the same stats when at least three enemies have been knocked out.

Anyway, Foreordain makes them S tier. It's strong enough that you can build Ufuoma's equipment to just focus on raising Armor, start the fight with it to clear out the weak enemies, use Purging Flame to damage whoever's left while getting the Armor debuff cleansed from yourself, and then either heal or Condemn again. Divine Valor also synergizes really well, and makes starting fights off with that extra 40% Armor even more useful. The thing holding them back from S+ is that without Condemn they have no single target burst damage for when there's an elite enemy you need to take out at the start of the fight, and because they are so focused on one strong skill it can lead to not supporting the team as much as the other Inquisitors do. But still, a rather secretly strong character.

If you learned to read based on vibes and guesswork, you're not really reading the words, you're just reading the general shape of the text, the details escape you because individual words are not really important. How would you even notice that the machine got the details wrong?

Excuse me, there's a large difference between describing what is in the picture using your brain, and using a computer to generate the most likely sequence of words that are normally associated with those combinations of pixels, which maybe will accidentally match reality in X% of times.
