I went to clean up my great great great grandparents' grave last year and, after much confused searching, I realised the headstone had blown over in a storm 😭 I arranged for it to be lifted and reset, at considerable expense - my family think I'm mad but how could I not?!

Plus, it was great to meet genealogists from other parts of the world and to catch up with old friends, including some #IrishGenealogy legends! #AncestryHour bsky.app/profile/chri...

It started with a visit from Phyllis @shapeyrfamtree.bsky.social - a friend, fellow genealogist and classmate from my Masters degree. We toured Northern Ireland, including the @ulsteramericanfolkpark.org, which I recommend to anyone interested in migration from Ireland to North America. #GenHour

Heraldry! This is a huge family tree for William Cole, who established the Plantation town of Enniskillen. It asserts that he is related to many English nobility families, with wonderful illustrations of their coats of arms. #GenHour #Genealogy #IrishGenealogy

Very large parchment roll entitled 'Genealogy of the right worshipful and worthy Captain Sir William Cole of the Castle of Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, in the kingdom of Ireland'. It comprises an extensive family tree with many coats of arms painted on it.
