Y'all *just* got together and are already starting a family on the same day! I've only had a couple of adopted beans show up so far with Nestor, and they've been so cute. I'm really excited for next week's new beans!

Frog on a Log #252

Wildlight and Greyfire are sunbathing on a rock at the side of the lake when Greyfire spots the biggest, roundest frog ever sitting on a log.

Wildlight and Greyfire debate what they should name the frog.

Wildlight suggests that they might call the frog Frogatha or maybe even Frogbert. Greyfire counters that Bob is objectively the best name for any frog. The two eventually decide to go with the name B. Frogbert (the 'B' stands for 'Bob'), truly the best of both worlds. They continue lounging through much of the afternoon, watching B. Frogbert the whole time.

Wildlight and Greyfire are now partners!

Greyfire is quietly wandering through the forest, when they spot some lovely flowers!

Greyfire picks the flowers to quietly leave on Wildlight's things later.

Greyfire puts an assortment of flowers together and ties it up with a little bow. They then run around with it for a bit before quietly leaving it on Wildlight's bed and speeding off before they are spotted.

Greyfire and Wildlight would like to be parents. If you approve, the two cats will have a litter of baby beans in one week.

Please thank carefully before starting a family, as once you accept, there is no way to go back. Your not-cats will have committed to raising their new children until they reach adolescence.

There's wild Star Cucumbers growing in the woods by work?? I really wish I liked cucumbers more so I could try making something with them. There's always pickles, but idk they already seem squishy to me so they might not be good for pickling

I was not ready for the sudden change in weather once the equinox happened. It feels like we just rolled over to Fall 1 in Stardew Valley and everything's changed

Past weather. Sunday had a high in the 80s, Monday was in the mid-70s, and then immediately Tuesday and Wednesday dropped into the low-to-mid 60s

Day 4 The staining worked so well! To keep it safely biodegradable, I used beet juice for the pink coloration and coffee for the darker browns. It's very clearly a flamingo now and I'm so proud of my First Wooden Creation

Couldn't even add more details if I wanted to lol. Turns out "cut-resistant" doesn't mean "cut-proof" (or stab-proof). Didn't realise I had this hole in my thumb until the end, but I didn't draw any blood (from that mistake at least). The blisters I've been building up from this protected my thumb

Day 3 Carving and adding details is complete! All that's left is to sand it down a little and then stain it so it actually looks like a flamingo instead of a duck I did have to amputate its raised leg just for ease of work though

Day 2 (and change) Progress has slowed, but is still steadily happening. Carving out the beak from the rest of the block was the most annoying and tedious part. Tomorrow I'm going to finish carving it from the block, and then actually shaping it into a 3D bird (hopefully)

The wooden flamingo is mostly carved out of the block. Only a small amount by its legs remain. There's some slight shaping of the beak and body

Saw this cool guy on my way out of the gym. He was massive!! I would go to the gym a lot more often if it meant I got little treats like seeing/holding bugs (or just eating food treats, but that would kinda defeat the purpose)

When my husband took me to the aquarium for my birthday, I got a horseshoe crab plush and of course had to go back to see their exhibit. The worker there saw me taking pictures and taught us that my plush was a girl because she didn't have the larger front claws that males do lol
