In 2008, Paulee decided to “step up his game” and sent Daddy’s Little Girl to Krazy Kutting in Yuma, Arizona, for a complete transformation. When the bike returned the following year, Freddy Alfaro rendered a delicate set of murals with matching pinstriping and a new name, Lil’ Angel.

Constructed in 1996 from a Schwinn Fair Lady, it featured an enclosed frame and custom paint with the name Daddy’s Little Girl. The project was a reintroduction to lowriding for Paulee, who modified his first bicycle at eight years old and has since built and owned numerous lowrider bikes and cars.

Lowriding can be a powerful outlet in times of hardship and grief. Lost loved ones are often memorialized by these vehicles. After Paul E. “Paulee” Feliciaño and his wife Vivian lost their daughter Bernadette shortly after birth, he channeled his emotions into building a lowrider bike.

This construction method allows for maximum volume with minimal weight and allows light to penetrate the structure. The suspended shapes create an illusion that the forms have decompressed and expanded and that the two visible sculptures might be fragments of a larger mysterious mass, like clouds.

SFO Museum @sfomuseum.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
The project reflects Buster's ongoing interest in the merging of natural and built environments and her investigations into forms that operate at once as landscape and architecture. The sculptures consist of stacked, shaped planes made from powder-coated steel tubing and greenhouse shade cloth.
