My effort for #wordoftheweek 🪡 🍂 #writingcommunity #writingforchildren #poetrycommunity #poetryforchildren #poetsky
*Sewing machine*

I want to be a vampire
The greatest ever seen
Or perhaps a giant pumpkin
A monster all in green

Go get that orange tablecloth
The scraps of shirts and jeans
Go get that bright red pillow case
And rip it at the seams

A kind of homemade magic
Can you hear it?

The rhythm of the needle
Strutting a straight line
The rhythm of the seasons
Revolving round in time.

Sat down on the first morning of my week off to do a jigsaw from the library and someone has removed every edge piece except one????!!!! Why would someone do this?! I am very tempted to write a villain based on them. Or maybe I will be the villain, behold, this is my origin story.
