Interesting: I usually raise my bust dart and shorten the armcyce by 2-3" total. The tracing paper is a petite pattern. The bust dart is basically in the right place but the armcyce is 1.5" lower than my mods result. Curious to see how the muslin works out
Front pieces from two different button up shirt patterns, stacked. The bottom is Love Notions Aria, which has been modded with my usual mods, and the top (tracing paper) is SBCC's Shirley, which hasn't. The differences are in the post

I've only sewn two woven tops, both from Love Notions, and on both of them I raised the darts and shortened the armcyces. This Seamwork muslin was horribly unflattering until I did the same mods. I was truly on the fence until I hemmed the sleeves. Maybe I *can* figure out this fitting thing.

Shoulder functionality is finally at the point that I can continue my giant ruffly cast off. (Continental, so my R arm isn't doing much!) 🧶

I got in a riding accident on Saturday. While at urgent care, I finally listened to podcast I was recommended with @malicedafirenze.bsky.social . This inspired me to try horse games for the first time in years, because I probably won't be riding for a while. Y'all. IT WASN'T EVEN FIVE MINUTES

Printed a Laundry Day Tee from @lovenotions.bsky.social for this! If you know of a fabric store on bsky that sells deadstock knits, lmk. My husband also requested a henley shirt and I don't have suitable fabric in my stash.

🧶 term of the day: Crocking When your yarn (or fabric?) has extra dye that comes off on your hands as you work. More common with natural dyes, especially indigo. Thankfully this indigo dye comes off with a hand wash or two. Usually it's not a problem in the FO because washing and vinegar helps.

#showmeyourknits is sweaters, so here's my Cozy Classic Light raglan (Jessie Maed) Not quite my first sweater, just the first one I like enough to wear regularly! I did the sleeves 2aat and that's going to be my go-to from now on.
Raglan in blue with occasional purple/teal variegated stripes. Raglan is primarily stockinette and has lots of positive ease.

I experimented with chain plying *while knitting* yesterday: basically a strategy to hold 3 strands at a time without the chaos of 3 balls. I think I like it! This fingering had too much color variation for my tastes. Held 3tog mutes it imo. It looks more like an oil slick now.
Stockinette in a small swatch. The yarn is purple-grey-copper-green. The swatch has the strands held 3 tog, which blurs the colors together.

I always forget to take FO photos of gifts. Here is my first two attempts at a drawstring bread bag with French seams.
Two cloth bags in colorful fabric are overlaid so that the side seam and drawstring hole of each are showing. The seams are clumsy.

The barn's new owners picked up an untamed mustang and her foal yesterday. They're surprisingly brave and chill for barely being handled ever.

I settled on a Clapotis (my first) as my MIL's gift, coincidentally syncing up with its anniversary celebration Using Tumalo Fiber yarn (Lava Butte Sport) in the Night Bazaar colorway. Knitters Pride needles size 8

This blog post made me realize I didn't know how to use the markings on my Pfaff presser feet! quiltsocial.com/the-guide-on... The 0A red lines are 1/8" marks (relative to center), and there's a groove in the foot for 1/4" (and a dot for turning). What else am I missing?

Serves me right for being too lazy to zigzag the edges before washing. The one fat quarter I did finish had stayed completely out of this mess.

Building this baby quilt has piqued my interest in quilt-as-you go with scraps. Except I sew with knits more often than wovens. Could I back those scraps with firm interfacing and incorporate them?
