It's a fun game! A lot of people tend to prefer the GBA original to the PS2 remake, but I enjoy both. That said, it's by far the best written KH game, Sora peaked as a character here and has kinda been slowly rolling downhill ever since

My recommendation for anyone wanting consistently solid comic runs that don't require much continuity knowledge will always be Daredevil. Frank Miller, Ann Nocenti, Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Wais and Chip Zdarsky all have fantastic DD runs I'd easily recommend

For this particular build, soldering is pretty much 99% optional! The only thing it's required for is the on screen display that can be used with a button combo to toggle some of the screen features. All but one of said features can be used with some touch sensors that come with the kit, though!

There's an additional bonus for the Transfer Pak! If you use a cartridge other than the Beast Wars GBC game, you get a random stat nerf/buff during fights for whichever player has the Transfer Pak. Megatron X also gets these buffs, and it *also* stacks with his already inflated boss-tier stats!

Do people like 2 more? I always figured people liked them about the same tho 3 is personally my favorite of the series, yeah It's definitely the culmination of everything Nintendo R&D1 learned from developing GB games up to that point. Whole series itself is pretty great for how experimental it is.

Finally finished my Sega Astro City custom GBA! Swapped the lime green buttons I've used for the last few years for neon green closer to the Astro City cab buttons and put in a v5 IPS screen and did the soldering for the on screen display. There's a little light bleed at the top but I'll live, lol

FF8 - I'm kind of a yearner at heart so 8 was always going to resonate with me, but Squall is probably the closest I've ever felt to being seen (at least emotionally) in a video game. All the best worst parts of him are things I see in myself, particularly in regards to self worth.

Burnout 3 - This game, even moreso than fighting games, is the one I think of when I think of the term "local multiplayer". Used to spend entire summer days in 7/8th grade playing this with friends. Ended up sharing an apt with said friends at one point and resumed the habit like we never stopped.

Skies - It's overarching message of optimism even in the face of insurmountable odds and not making excuses for yourself got me through a pretty dark time in my life after a breakup I took pretty hard in my younger days. If not for replaying this (and MGS2) on a whim I probably wouldn't be here.

Brawl - Yeah okay Brawl sucks, but this is another one where friendships were forged thanks to it's existence. Taught me that even iffy games are great with the right people around AA3 - Quite literally influenced my original choice for my (eventually switched) major in college.

KH1 - Made friends with people and had life experiences I otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to experience thanks to KH. Can't thank it enough TvC - Always had friends and family into the fighting game scene, but TvC pushed me into being an active participant instead of an outside observer
