Today, we celebrate each other. Because Canada is a nation of kind, compassionate, hardworking people — as remarkable and diverse as the landscapes we all call home. Happy Canada Day, Ottawa!

Back from a period away from the app to share my out there dream of one day having a bilingual tv news station in Canada that doesn’t translate English or French. I want to hear the person speak in the language they were speaking. And sure, change languages mi-phrase. #Canada #ottawa

Not Abacus. As noted in the attached page, for Abacus, the change is up 1 for the Cons, and down 4 for the Liberals. The previous poll for Abacus only had the liberals up 3.

The NDP often do quite well in rural ridings and areas where the Liberals don't stand a chance. It isn't always a left vs right thing in parts of the country. Some of them just really really don't like the Liberals, especially out west.

A common refrain I see on social media is that if you can't boycott perfectly, why boycott at all? After all I'm still on Bluesky which is American! A boycott doesn't have to be perfect to be successful. Collective action works one purchase at a time. And we're still going #elbowsup #Canada

Absolutely. This is why we need to be very careful what we give up. Concessions that are not easy to reverse are not a good idea. Trump signed the last trade deal himself and cannot be trusted to keep his word.

My two cents on the Digital Services Tax and the ongoing trade war... #Canada #CdnPoli I am, like I suspect a lot of Canadians are, burnt out. I'm not happy, but I'm a lot more worried about concessions that are harder to reverse. Oh, and the boycott is still on. #BuyCanadian

Don't give up anything in negotiations that can't be quickly reversed, since Trump can't be trusted to keep to his word. If concessions are made that kill local industries, those industries aren't just going to reappear without effort when Trump changes his mind for no reason.

Feels like they're trying to jump through hoops to keep Poilievre around, and not blame him for the loss. They like him and his policies even if the voters don't. The convoy and Peterson are plusses for them. So they default back to finding a woman to scapegoat.

They have done it on other ballots before (and gotten less attention). I'm not fond of the tactic either since it makes ballots less accessible and harder to count, but it hasn't just been targeted at Poilievre

Grassroots organizing is absolutely what got Poilievre to lose his seat in Carleton. Even if Poilievre doesn't lose, every vote against him sends a message. Every vote counts.
