Is it elitist to get triggered by responses like, "huh?" "uh-huh" or "nuh-uh"? I can't tell you how many times I've had to repeat myself to patients (not just elderly) that go, "huhhhh??" I don't mind repeating myself if I got an "I'm sorry?" or, "excuse me?" But "huhhh?" is so disrespectful to me.
