Digger is a frustrating film, as it has plenty of aspects I really like and some that come close to ruining the film. The set design and caustic rapid-fire dialogue are great, and the film has several phenomenal monologues. Tom Cruise is incredibly fun as the repulsive yet magnetic Digger.

Senator Eric Schmitt confusing the Atlanta Hawks and Iowa Hawkeyes sports teams gives me very particular deja vu, as I recall some people claiming that the 2017 Unite The Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia was a Left false-flag because they saw a rally ad for CHARLOTTE in NORTH CAROLINA.

I think 15 Sequoia was the last all-round good version of MacOS. 26 Tahoe brought new Finder and graphics features, including the more advanced Metal 4 API, but took a performance hit on older (M1 and M2 series) Apple Silicon Macs, and Tahoe and especially the new 27 Golden Gate are quite buggy.

After the initial SSD upgrade, I cracked open my blueberry iBook G3 again twice to fix some issues — to better fasten the screen assembly, and replace the DC-In board — but I just opened it a third time to free the antenna cable (it was pinned under the case) so it can reach the AirPort card.

With the discontinuation of the Mac Pro, the Mac Studio became the only current Mac to still have USB-A ports, but now that the M6 and M5 Pro Mac Minis have soldered-down, unremovable storage, the Mac Studio is also the only current Mac with modular storage. :(

I just fixed an original Blueberry clamshell iBook G3! I received the iBook in the mail yesterday, and it's in excellent condition, with very few cracks or scratches (and the Apple logo hasn't popped out of the lid, which is very common for clamshell iBooks).

I've never thought the so-called "Blueberry" iBook G3 had much of a blueberry-like colour. Since much of the marketing presented the iBook as "iMac to go" (we call it "takeaway" in Australia), I wonder why Apple didn't call this version of the iBook "Bondi Blue" to match the blue iMac G3.

I use SuperDuper a lot to backup and clone my Macs, and the new version seems to run slower and give less progress feedback than earlier versions. :(

I just learned that the new M6 and M5 Pro Mac Minis have soldered-down, unupgradeable storage. :( The M4 and M4 Pro Mac Minis were more repairable and upgradeable than prior generations (and I upgraded my M4 to 1 TB with a third-party module), so it's sad that Apple got rid of this modularity again.

Like with my iPhone 6s Plus, I backed up and reset my second-gen iPad Pro a couple of days ago. If you want to upgrade but still have a serviceable, familiar device, it feels good to start fresh on the quality device you already own. :) I may do this with my iPhone 15 Pro Max instead of upgrading.

I'm really impressed with the Godzilla: Just Pray fan film series. Godzilla looks even more grotesque than in Shin Godzilla, and Toolzilla's refraction of Toho kaiju through Biblical themes is profoundly unsettling — "Biblically-accurate" Ghidorah is the most horrifying he's ever been.

I just learned that Tim Cook was under consideration as Hillary Clinton's Vice President during her Presidential campaign. I like Cook, and he was admittedly part of a long list, but being a great steward of a massive corporation doesn't make you a good candidate for the USA's second-in-command.

Myst was the first video game I ever played. Myst's atmosphere and the novel concept of books as portals captivated my young imagination, and while I've always preferred science fiction to fantasy, Myst primed me to enjoy technofantasy (fantasy with a strong focus on advanced technology).

I had a vision of a world where Myst is mostly the same but it was developed by brother-sister team Rand and Robyn Miller. Since the siblings still lacked the budget or connections to hire actors, Rand played Atrus and his macabre son Achenar while Robyn portrayed Atrus's aristocratic daughter Siri.

Someone made a sobering observation about how in this current AI boom, big businesses are much more tolerant of subpar content than before. Many companies would reject mediocre/low-quality promotional art from a real paid person, but gladly use the same poor material if it came out free from an AI.

I'm afraid I didn't like Zach Creggor's Resident Evil movie much. It's tense and visceral, has some great cinematography and a very Ennio Morricone-esque score, but the forced, excessive comedy dragged the film down for me. Resident Evil has always been camp, but this was annoying. 3.5/5

Zack Creggor reportedly cut out most of the jokes from his new Resident Evil movie after test audiences complained about too much comedy. This makes me wonder what Creggor cut out, as I think the trimmed version he released still WAY overdoes it with the humour.

I reset my iPhone 6s Plus last night to start fresh without the bloat. This old iPhone still runs fast and smoothly, the headphone jack is much-appreciated, and I now know how to better manage the content on it: sync iTunes music and videos from my Mac but AirDrop photos and files onto it.

I occasionally check Twitter, and quickly leave when I see the open bigotry on display. I happened to find a Twitter page for a curvy model promoting her OF, and while she may be a real person, most or all of her pictures and videos are AI, and this is increasingly common on social media.

It's interesting that Apple is using "Hello, hello" as the slogan for the iPhone Duo on their website. It's weird to think of "hello" as having any kind of exclusivity, but "hello" has always been more associated with the Mac in Apple advertising, going as far back as the original Macintosh in 1984.
