In the first panel, the labouring Armand, attended by Cvijan and Garesa, is lying on his back on the furs of the bed, thighs spread and pushing with all of his might as his newborn's rump and tail begin to emerge. As Cvijan holds his hand and watches intently, Garesa assists him in lifting one of his thighs to keep his legs spread while he gives birth. Their dialogue reads:

In the second panel, some time evidently having passed, Armand is on his hands and knees, head down and panting heavily, teats leaking and with Cvijan still holding his hand as he looks on anxiously, as Garesa supports the rear end of the newborn's lower body. Its back legs and most of its torso have now come out, Armand having yet to deliver the front legs or upper body. Their dialogue reads:
