Didn't know there was a bird based art challenge for this month... Oh well. Pigeonsona, go!

Y'all... lemme tell you about this book on my shelf that I have yet to read.... Which I bought on premise alone... Short Version: Melville and Nathaniel Hawthorne are PINING.

I got reading glasses last week. This week was my birthday. I finished a pretty intense book as well. I guess things aren't that bad.

Also, this is what came out today after therapy and trying a little... I mean, it's not BAD but I know I'm capable of so much better.

You know how some people look like Muppets? I've discovered another type of human Muppet... The first kind are the ones with fully opening and closing mouths (Ernie, Bert, etc.) BUT the second kind are the ones that are just a slit cut into a surface (think of a loaf of bread). That.

Meet my son. I brought him home sometime around... I wanna say 2016, but I could be wrong... point is, my some miracle he is alive. His siblings... I am not saying they're a metaphor for my mental state sometimes, but I'm also not NOT saying that.

I've seen two movies this week with queer leads with different songs by Ingrid Michaelson in them, and I have to say I enjoyed them both a lot.

As someone who unironically loves The Cable Guy... LURKER was fucking great. It's creepy, unsettling, hilarious, and a li'l sad. Plus, the music was fantastic. If you can see this, do it. #moviesky

Look, I've been at this book for a WHILE (I started it in 2022 and pick it up when I can)... I wanna finish it this year. Lemme tell you... I just finished PLEASE CONTINUE by Chris Kluwe (a former NFLer @chriswarcraft.bsky.social ) and it was something I really needed today. Thank you. #booksky

Finished DIRTY HEADS by Aaron Dries recently. As someone who has only dabbled in cosmic horror, this was pretty great. I really felt for Heath and I just wanted to give him a hug and tell him everything's going to be okay despite the obvious. Well done. Ordered from @littleghostsbooks.bsky.social

The one thing I love about CREATURE is that the creature's design was created by Milicent Patrick, who previously worked at Disney animating and doing SFX work for FANTASIA. Specifically, Chernabog from A Night on Bald Mountain.

Is nobody going to talk about how the director/writer of GOOD BOY, the horror movie from the perspective of a dog, has a last name that is almost the same as a dog breed? Because that's freaking great.

I can't really recall the last time a game really wowed me with graphics or story, but I recently played the demo for HAUNTII, which isn't that new, but the art is GORGEOUS and the story pulled me in so quick, it's wild. And the style isn't overcomplicated either... it's so good. And its the DEMO.

@dollterror13.bsky.social Big applause for days. This was fantaatic! I saw it for sale at @littleghostsbooks.bsky.social and had to have it ASAP. I devoured this, and it was such a juicy, meaty, gooey, cheesy, fun time... it was like being at a Brazilian steakhouse. I await the movie adaptation.

Gene Hackman was great... and in looking up one of the first flicks I saw him in, I learned it was written by THREE horror writers, and it's a COMEDY. Granted, like most things of that era, it didn't age well... but for what it was... Loose Cannons was p great.

I don't know why I don't post more of my art on here. I really should, and honestly, since I haven't really done any major projects recently and all I have are sketches.... so here... Weird stuff. Kirbys. And Scratsune Miku.

Moving on to another book can be hard, especially when my "in-progress" books are slowly gathering dust while I slowly l make my way through them as a palate cleanser. But I've had this on my shelf for a while, so I started it and it's already so good. One chapter in and it's such beautiful prose.

Because curiosity got me after seeing news/coverage of Citizen Sleeper, and I've already sunk more than 4 hours into it... It's so good and engrossing and I think I'm going to have to do another playthrough to retry the objectives I missed. I don't think any game has ever pulled me so intensely.

Finished MONSTERS by Emerald Fennell last night, and while I haven't seen any of the films or shows she's done/worked on, I have to say that it's something that makes me want to seek it out. It's funny, dread-inducing, and something definitely horrifying in all the right ways. Well done.
