Same prompt, Claude Sonnet 5 on the left, Sonnet 5.5 on the right, three months difference: (all tests, playable: senko.net/vibecode-bench/ )

Opus 5.5 is neck-and-neck with Fable 5.1 and Astra 6 in my vibe-coding tests - maybe even better than Fable 5.1: senko.net/vibecode-ben...

Took GPT 6 Astra and Claude Fable 5.1 for a spin with my vibe-coding tests. Astra is a clear upgrade from Sol 5.6, Fable a minor one. All tests & prompts: senko.net/vibecode-ben... Real-time strategy game built by Astra based on a 5-sentence prompt:

Opus 5 is really good! In my vibecode testing, it performed as well or better than Fable, while being cheaper. Play and compare here: senko.net/vibecode-ben...

Kimi K3 is pretty good: roughly on par with Opus 4.8 and GPT-5.5 in my LLMCraft test: senko.net/vibecode-ben...

Did a few more vibecoding tests with Fable, Opus 4.8 and GPT-5.6 Sol: Minecraft clone, and a flying sim. Fable wins easily, but at 4.5x the cost (!!), while Sol is a noticable improvement over Opus 4.8. See & play all the tests ony my vibecoding benchmarks page: senko.net/vibecode-ben...

OpenAI GPT-5.6 is out and I put the Sol and Terra variants through my "LLMCraft" RTS test, with (expectedly) pretty good results! I'd say Sol (the larger) model is roughly on par with Claude Fable 5. Try it here: senko.net/vibecode-ben... (list of all tests: senko.net/vibecode-ben... )

Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5 is out and actually seems pretty good for coding! Here's what it produced (via Claude Code), with one bug I reported, that it found and fixed: senko.net/vibecode-ben... Compare with Opus 4.8, Fable 5, GPT-5.5, GLM-5.2 and others here: senko.net/vibecode-ben...

Fable 5 saturated my "LLMCraft" vibe-coding test, mere 6 months after I introduced it: senko.net/vibecode-ben... (you can't see it on the screenshot, but the workers, click effects and fights are animated - and yes, there are mobs to fight!) All tests: senko.net/vibecode-ben...

Local, small, open-weights models are roughly comparable to the frontier ones from a year ago. Google's Gemma 4 12B (released today by Google) performs roughly as well as GPT-4.1 on my Minesweeper test: senko.net/vibecode-ben... Full list of models I've been testing: senko.net/vibecode-ben...

Testing Claude Code with Opus 4.8 in "ultracode" mode by implementing an RTS game. Pretty good results: gist.github.com/senko/24d117...

Opus 4.8 effort selector in Claude Code. I have a nagging feeling I'll hit my token quota in the next 35 seconds.

I was curious about the sources, found it here: www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA... Tried to reproduce, works great for "what model are you" in Chinese. But "what is your name" reports differently - as "ChatGPT" 🤣

Zelena (tirkizna?) boja na "su ljudi" je malo off u odnosu na film, ali oprostit ćemo im.

Yes. And it's both funny and tragic how 1) people blame slop on AI when it was provably there before the LLM boom (for the reasons you listed) and 2) SEO gurus a busy at it again, citing - I kid you not - fairness.
Is it really kosher to spam and manipulate ChatGPT's answers? Well, friends, given that they stole all your content, paid you nothing, violated trademarks, and cost you tons of server bandwidth in the process (and are at least somewhat responsible for the dramatic decline in referred traffic across the web), I'd say it's only fair to spam away:

A 2025 vibe-coding wrap-up featuring 9 frontier models implementing Minesweeper, a silly test I used to quickly evaluate their coding: github.com/senko/vibesw... Most had no problems, so I'm retiring it as a test. Next year I'm going to be using something a bit more challenging...

This snippet from simonwillison.net/2025/Jun/23/... by @simonwillison.net beautifully explains why AI-assited coding is not the end for junior devs - quite the opposite! (I'd add: "and you can ask them to explain how a particular detail works or why they've chosen this approach")
It turns out having an LLM write an application in front of you is a great way to start building understanding of what a framework can do.

It’s almost like watching a YouTube livestream of an experienced developer speed running building an application, except that app is exactly what you asked them to build and you can interject and send them in a new direction at any moment.

@sasajuric.bsky.social I think @ivan.habunek.com took your "Tell me a story" message to heart. I *almost* clicked to see all changes, but in the last minute checked the commit list :)

@sockpuppet.org seems to find AI useful for Linux kernel (tho for analysis, not coding):
I've said this on HN a bunch, but my favorite LLM thing so far is asking 4o to translate Linux kernel subsystems into Python. For instance, to trace packets through the IP stack, or follow the device mapper. It even generates example usage code. (Thomas Ptacek @tqbf on X)

I'm often sharing URLS from computer (GNOME/Linux) to phone via QR codes but never got around to finding (or building) an app to do that quickly and painlessly. Today I vibe-coded it in a few minutes, complete with .desktop file: gist.github.com/senko/d58c7a...

Age yourself with your first computer. Mine also had floppies, meaning I could not swap game cassettes with my friends. Thus I was bored, had to poke in the user manual and learn something called BASIC.
