Sursprisingly many people irl ask me why I don't use AI to make my game. The list is so long. But my top 5 is: 5. It's theft 4. It fills each market with low quality crap 3. It prevents you from learning something new 2. It kills creativity 1. It's a huge waste of humanity's collective resources

Strategy: Into the Breach. I suck at strategy and would have avoided ItB if it hadn't been included in some bundle I bought. Turns out I like strategy when it's basically a turn based puzzle. It's one of my favorite games now.

Except deckbuilders with ascension systems. Although it might be a stretch to call it a difficulty system in the traditional sense. Hades does this very well, too.

Today my godchild learned that I am making a video game. Now he wants to make one too. An open-world 3D super hero game with endless replayability and multiple playable characters with different abilities. He asked me if this is easy, medium or hard to develop. Yeah, about that... #gamedev

The confidence you need to charge $20+ is pretty significant. Either you have lots of wishlists or you have made several games already and proven yourself. I'm making my first game and I think it will have dozens, maybe 100s of hours of playtime. But I can't see myself charging more than $12.

I avoided playing Slice and Dice for 2 years because I worried I would unconsciously copy from it to my own game. I finally played it and I think I was right to wait. What a great game, I am jealous!
