I am very grateful for the honor, and I'll continue to work with our partners like the Pennsylvania Solar Center to make a brighter and cleaner energy future a reality here in the Commonwealth.

Senator Carolyn Comitta @senatorcomitta.com · 02/10/2026

While we have made progress investing in a transition cleaner energy with programs like Solar for Schools, there is still a lot of work we can and must do to make solar energy more accessible and get renewable energy projects online faster.

Senator Carolyn Comitta @senatorcomitta.com · 02/10/2026

Last night I joined the Pennsylvania Solar Center at Victory Brewing in Downingtown, where I was honored to receive their Lodestar Award. Transitioning to solar-generated energy is not only a powerful tool in reducing carbon emissions, but it is cheaper than fossil fuel-generated energy sources.

I recently visited Sims Metal in South Coatesville to see their operations and how they transform and recycle metal products from both commercial clients and residents. So great to see how the business is giving old and unused material a new life while creating jobs right here in Chester County.

At the capitol this week I was glad to see my friend Bertram Lawson, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. Most of our neighboring states already have paid family leave. To keep Pennsylvania competitive and compassionate for workers, it's time to make paid family leave a reality in the Commonwealth.

000

Senator Carolyn Comitta @senatorcomitta.com · 30/09/2026

I was glad to meet with Blake, Grace, and Sean with The Fund for Women and Girls to discuss the importance of legislation currently awaiting a vote in the Senate to establish paid family leave and how it would positively impact Chester County families.

100

Senator Carolyn Comitta @senatorcomitta.com · 30/09/2026

Pennsylvania workers should not have to choose between earning a paycheck or taking care of themselves or their loved ones when they are sick or in need of care. That's why we need a paid family leave program.

In a traffic or highway emergency, an attenuator or blocking equipment can help better protect our emergency service officials as they respond to an incident. I was glad to work with Rep. Chris Pielli to obtain this blocking truck for the three companies of the West Chester Fire Department.

This memorial designation would serve as a lasting tribute to Corporal O’Connor and ensure that his name and legacy remain connected to the community and Pennsylvania State Police station he proudly served.

After his tragic passing in the line of duty in March of this year, in consultation with Corporal O'Connor's family and the Pennsylvania State Police, I am introducing legislation to rename a portion of West Strasburg Road (SR3062), alongside the Troop J Embreeville Station, in his memory.
