While continuing to lecture the West about an ‘unacceptable style of dialogue’, the Kremlin is now again threatening foreign diplomats in Kyiv. This is what Moscow calls being open to dialogue and negotiations:

It is important to show your support to these developers, and allowing promotion of AI-generated projects in our spaces would just discourage them further. Assuring them that there's an audience that cares about the details and things being done properly is very important.

The existence of these projects doesn't deter us from doing them properly, but we've witnessed first-hand how they can demotivate a developer who was in the middle of creating a project that checks all the boxes of the quality standards that are expected by the public.

The average user doesn't quite understand the difference, they're happy they're getting more things to play, and there's little validation that they work properly. At the rate things are going, that platform's original goal will be basically lost and become nothing but an expensive Raspberry Pi.

In short, the situation is less about what AI is capable of, but more of an influx of people who're not aware of the quality expected by the public. The workflow these tools impose eliminate any interaction with the community before they release their projects, and that's where the friction starts.

What these people are unaware of is that getting the game running is basically the first step of the journey and not the end. This is why I argue that as far as recomps go, AI hasn't provided any sort of speedup. Making a barebones recompilation was always easy and required very little time.

I still see a lot of confusion about what decompilation, recompilation and ports are and what level of effort is involved in each type of project. It's important that people understand the difference, as recompilation took a drastically different meaning that when it was originally introduced.

Refined everything a bit. the Bungee system works a bit better now. there's also an indicator. it changes color based on distance. and i guess we have a use for these Chaotix Mania levels now. Need to refine it more since there's no hold and no reset buttons it makes it hard to complete levels.

"how did you do [mildly difficult creative thing]? did you use AI?" i'm sure most folks asking this question are genuine and mean nothing by it, but this is a really hurtful thing for most artists to hear. no. we don't use AI. we do the difficult thing, by hand, for the love of the game.
