Accessibility regressions hate this one weird trick! 😱 Strive to keep your HTML markup as flat and simple as possible. It's easier to manage in the long run and has less places for bugs to sneak in and hide. #Accessibility #A11y #WebAccessibility #WebA11y
Regressions LOVE deeply nested layers of HTML markup.

It makes it easy for them to sneak in and stay hidden for a while.

Some alternatives you can try? 1. A visible label with "required" or "optional" appended to each. 2. Help text below the label describing the input format, where the info can be found, what the value will be used for. 3. No placeholders or icons. Rationale explained next. 🧵 6/10
The same four fields now each with a label, required/optional appended to the label, then a brief description, then the input.

From top to bottom they are:

Account ID (required). The 8-digit account number that is found at the top-right of an invoice.

Amount Of Payment (required). How much you are paying today in US dollars. Must be at least $10.

Patient Name (optional). The full name of the patient who this account number belongs to.

Patient Email (optional). The email address associated with the patient's account that should receive the payment receipt.

Oops! Made a typo. Thanks to everyone who shared yesterday's post anyways. 🥰
"In This House We" ASCII art meme, reading "In this house we don't judge typos." Four of the Semantic Fish Creative Group doodled fish sit along the righthand edge facing inward at the ASCII art.
