Now that I've finished Season 1 of Heroes, I think I hit a good stopping point. It didn't exactly end on a high note—a lot of execution slips in that final moment, like Hiro's final attack and Peter's whole situation—but it did cap off a surprisingly strong season of television.

Reading Dracula and really struck by how much of this book is just someone dealing with a sudden, debilitating illness. If you didn't have the Jonathan intro, you could assume that Lucy just has cancer, and where I am in the book, Mina just established a living will complete with funeral planning.

I've been watching Season 1 of Heroes with my wife, and I really see how this show went so hard when it was coming out. The way every story comes together and how well it captures the weird blend of tones that make up cape comics, the pathos and the goofiness, really keeps me invested.

Nora's actually pretty handy as a carpenter and electrician, the problem is, she lacks the focus to actually finish her projects and, thanks to her Semblance, exposed wiring is less of a "potentially lethal hazard" and more of a "way to bypass Jaune's ban on caffeinated beverages."

- Zoe has been a Muppet Fan since she was a child, she goes with the "Tim Curry I Am A Muppet Approach" absolutely demands a set with her favorite Muppets, who are clearly Animal and Gonzo. Maybe a knife throwing act, which no one knows about the demon hunting thing so everyone watching is surprised by how good she is.

- Mira rolls with it and uses the "Michael Caine they are just fellow performers approach" her thing is being totally unflappable. Various random things onstage, ignores the Swedish Chef, stares down Uncle Deadly, only to burst out laughing at the worst Fozzie Joke of All Time. then decamps to the balcony to heckle the other acts with Statler and Waldorf.

- Rumi is the least familiar and initially doesn't get why everyone is pretending they are real until Zoey threatens to beat her up with hammers. Arrives on set and is the victim of every single backstage hijink this episode has to offer. Winds up with a very sweet duet with Kermit, with her own version of "Bein' Green." The Heartwarming Moment is broken when a jealous Ms. Piggy karate chops her across the theatre.
