Thank goodness for good phone cameras! The last time I was in the Smith archives, I had to copy everything by hand and would never have gotten all this done in 2 weeks. And my new camera phone is amazing and no blurry pictures! #PhDSky #AcademicSky #Skystorians

Found some delightfully unexpected things in the archives today for my research! Best find: There's a family with the surname Sprinkle! And I might have found a distant ancestor. Or two. #PhDSky #Skystorians

I sat in on Loretta Riss's class on Reproductive Justice and we discussed disability and sterilization. And she and I discussed the lack of research on Asian Americans. Great connection for my archives research on Asian Americans and RJ! #PhDSky #AcademicSky

@ncph.bsky.social folks, what are 2-3 not negotiable "what is public history" texts to add to my prelims reading list? Hopefully everyone can agree.... #PhDSky #AcademicSky Also it was great to see that An Accessible Past which I have a chapter in, sold out!

If the "Surname, initials, uncapitalized title" citation style wasn't bad enough, now there's "Surname, initials, uncapitalized book/article title, and abbreviated journal titles" separated by semicolons and includes the ISBN. Seriously? #AcademicSky #PhDLife #Skystorians

I am once again begging able-bodied people to start caring about disability rights, disability justice, and disability history. You should care because ableism is bad whether you're a target of it or not, but under a fascist government, all leftists are disabled.

Before the election, when listing the marginalized people who would be targeted by a Trump administration, people frequently left out disabled people. And now every week there's another attack on disability rights. Yet unsurprisingly, it's mostly just disabled people talking about it.
