I know I don't post much, but I did finally write a new article: Its overwrought, very long, and more detail than anyone needs, but It was fun. I talk about my journey with two big Projects: 10 MTG decks, and wrapping up painting a lot of giants! tinyurl.com/yc59brdf #mtg #D&D #minispainting

A wide shot of all 53 giants I have hand painted over the years, from Stone, Storm, Fire, Frost, Hill and Cloud.

Here we are. All 53 painted giants in a single shot. It's hard to make them all out, but! Maybe you find your favorite in there!

53 hand painted giants from d n d. 5 stone giants, 8 fire giants, 12 frost giants, 24 hill giants, 2 cloud giants, 2 storm giants,

It's been a long time, but. I've finished up. 55 giants painted. The final three finished tonight. I can now start the process of transitioning the maps for Against the Giants so I can one day run it.

Ive been silent for months and months because things have been tough, personally, and have been lacking in inspiration, enjoyment, and tolerance. But I did do this last night, and its cool #d&d #dungeonsanddragons #maps #adventures

A side view detailed map of a depth based d&d dungeon, including room size, tunnel length, and tunnel depth

I'm not a speed runner. After 119 hours, 152 levels, and 7 great runes, I am done with Elden Ring. I didn't do everything - I rarely do in any one game - but I'm very satisfied. It definitely had some very frustrating parts, but what game doesn't? #eldenring #ps5 #videogame #games #gamer

Oh man, yeah. I painted this old boi the other day. I don't know how much his original owner paid, but I'll assume it's under $2.

I'm not gonna guarantee this hasn't happened before, but I have never seen all six living @galeforcenine.bsky.social giants painted and together. Most of them were an absolute joy, and I love that they are all finished and together. #miniatures #giants #minispainting #ttrpg #dnd #painting

All six living giant miniatures from Gale Force 9. Back: frost giant reaver, storm giant, frost giant raider, front fire giant prince, hill giant, fire giant dreadnaught. Each hand painted by me.

When I finish this guy, I'll have all the Gale Force 9 limited edition giants paints. I'll have to get a group shot. But they are big... Surprise. #miniatures #minis #minispainting #painting #giants #gf9 #dnd #dungeonsanddragons

I've run a #D&D game for the kiddo for the three years previous, and this year my wife decided to join in. Its the biggest and longest one I've ran in a day, and I am getting better at building one-shot dungeons. Getting to hang out with my family playing D&D on fathers day makes me very happy.

A Dungeons and Dragons battle layout, with a town in the foreground with an attached graveyard, a small campsite, a rocky hill and a dungeon behind it all.

Painting up the Fire Giant prince from #galeforce9 was a real treat after that let down from the dreadnought. I like how the black Iron halo and hammer came out, and wonder if I shouldn't have done their weapons like that from the start. #firegiant #giants #D&D #ttrpg #miniatures #minispainting

This stupid #firegiant took me way, way too long. It took me way too long to paint, and I am going into the tank for the next fire giant, but he's done. Need a bigger light box... Also, my take on the fire giant dreadnought, probably overtuned. #dnd #minispainting #miniatures #giants #ttrpg

It's draft day! I knew this huge table would com in handy for more than just DND #mtg #innistradremastered #INR

A basement table set up with 8 playmats, 8 sets of 40 sleeves, 8 life dials, and enough packs of innistrad remastered mtg set to run the draft.

Unlike the previous giants, this one is absolutely miserable to paint. The pose, sculpt and quality are all questionable. Parts are difficult to reach, the materials are difficult to differentiate from one another... It's just a mess. I'll be happy to be done. #dnd #gf9 #miniatures #painting #ttrpg

I love miniatures, and they give a lot of characters more life. My favorite is a massive storm giant, but my favorite character is the bearded elf, Otto.

Otto, a bearded elf cryomancer, alongside his signature Glacial Wall and the Ice elemental he summons.

Last night's combat went vwry well! Slow and Synaptic Static to start off and the melee and ranged picked everything apart from there. When the reinforcements arrived, they all failed their save and were trapped inside the ice-dome and flame struck. We're coming for ya, Blacksmith!

An image of a D and D table, with dice, a spell book, and other gaming peripherals around a three tiered dungeon made with dwarven forge tiles. On layer two is much of the party : two wizards, a monk, a cleric. Hanging on to the side of the structure is a ranger with spider climb. The paladin has charged down into the enemy on the lowest layer: Three wights, two death locks and a wight commander.

Put a bit of time into what I'll probably end up calling the Hill Giant Hurler. The #GF9 giants are all really excellent. I'll probably give him a small AOE ranged attack with a knock back, and lighter melee than normal hill giants. Gotta close the distance! #miniatures #minipainting #ttrpg #giants

Shield. But if you allow me to use my homebrew:

The Spell Glacial Barricade for D&D 5e, which I made, which works as follows:

Glacial Barricade
2nd Level Conjuration (Wizard)
Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when a creature you can see makes an attack or casts a spell
Range: 10 feet
Components: V, S, M (a small fragment of glass)
Duration: Instantaneous
You summon forth a transparent barrier of ice to safeguard your companions or yourself. You create a wall of ice 10 feet tall, 10 feet wide, and 6 inches thick, centered on a point you can see within range. The barrier has AC 13, 25 hit points, and is vulnerable to fire. The barrier lasts until the start of your next turn or until it is destroyed, when it melts harmlessly into a puddle.

This is my character in my D&D 5.5 game, Otto van Sark, the cryomancer. Formerly a confectioner, he was conscripted into the Conclave of Mages when it was discovered he had wizardly talents. Behind him is a spell of his own creation: glacial barricade, and the ice elemental he regularly summons

An even ice mage miniature hand-painted blue with long red hair and, yes, a magnificent ginger beard. He stands on broken cobblestones, with a curved wall of spiked ice to his left and a crystalline ice golem to his right, both printed from blue resin and highlighted white. Background of misty grey
