Among other unusual things, just discovered someone's uploaded Gruey and Bad Boyes to YouTube. Who'd'a thought Gruey was one of Keiran O'Brien's less naughty roles? @franticplanet.bsky.social

My sister is playing the themes to Penny Crayon and Budgie The Little Helicopter to her son in the bath. Bet she'll be putting on Wizbit and Greenclaws next.

Problem with applying for jobs these days is that even if you have many years experience in the field, if you're over 50 and seem a bit "weird", you'll be in the bin. If Burnham wants to get people off UCand PIP, he's going to have to offer employers some incentive to take on the "unusual".

Another girl pop relic of the 60s. Not as accomplished as Glenda Collins' Joe Meek produced version, but it has a charming naivete that cover lacks (compare the versions of "Bobby's Girl" by Marcie Blaine and Susan Maughan respectively). www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNpW...

You'd never know this was the same singer who did "Chanson D'Amour" with Manhattan Transfer. And produced by the guy who did "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV8t...

Latest thing YouTube has recommended to me (I watch a lot of old TV). I remember it well from back in 1984. It's so disturbing that even @franticplanet.bsky.social wouldn't make a video about it.

@franticplanet.bsky.social Your Little & Large content is getting major plugs on Gallifrey Base, so your sufferings weren't entirely wasted. Or at least wasted on Doctor Who fans who don't have enough appalling stuff to watch already.

It's no surprise that AI gets things wrong when making slop YouTube videos. But it's a damning indictment of the people who make them when they don't even perform the most basic of checks on the generated thumbnail.

CAMRA guilt-tripping the members. That'll help claw back the hundreds of thousands lost on unwise decisions, dudes.

The more you look at it, you realise how many Goffin & King songs were about dysfunctional relationships presented as normal. Not just the obvious ones like "He Hit Me And It Felt Like A Kiss", but also songs like "Please Don't Ever Change" and "When My Little Girl Is Smiling".

This scandalised the country at the time. You can kill all the people you like on British TV, but never EVER show an animal hurt or dying.

If you think my musical tastes are old and past it, my father is currently playing Al Jolson's version of "Oh! Susannah". Due to the childhood I had, I'm probably the only person (apart from my brother and sister, obvs) under the age of 70 who knows the lyrics to all Al Jolson's songs.

Industry commentators complaining that the BrewDog imbroglio is taking up all the bandwidth in Beer News while "better stories" go unreported. This is like complaining on 25th June 2009 that the news is dominated by Michael Jackson and nobody's talking about Farrah Fawcett.
