They did indeed delete their replies, but I got a screenshot yesterday, because I expected that to happen.

@duckaislop.bsky.social The devs of Dear Passengers are currently hiring a 2D artist to use generative AI for concept creation. I don't know if they've already used generative AI for the game and it currently doesn't have an AI disclosure. flexus.games#careers store.steampowered.com/app/4534960/...

You can select it right below the official search filter options.
A screenshot of Steam search filter options labeled "Narrow by AI Generated Content Disclosure" with the options "Blur games with AI disclosure" and "Hide games with AI disclosure." The first options is selected.

Funnily enough, the demo does have an AI disclosure.
A screenshot of an AI Generated Content Disclosure for The Last Shot: Underworld Demo with the following text:

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The page contains AI-generated artwork, and AI was also used in creating the game's promo.

With the newly released AI warning for Steam v1.1.0 you can turn the AI disclosure on Steam store pages into an unmissable popup and blur or hide games with an AI disclosure in the search results! github.com/seeeeew/aiwa... addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addo... chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ai-wa...

The developer clarified: Some AI-generated concept images were used on the store page just after it was created, but they say the game itself contains no AI-generated content. You can see their full reply in the attached screenshot.

Hi! Was Primordial Empire made with generative AI? The reason I'm asking is that the Steam API reports AI Content Type "1" for both the game and the demo, which means the flag for pre-generated AI content was set in the game's content survey. Neither store page has an AI disclosure and I've seen nothing else that suggests genAI might have been used, so I think the flag might have been set by mistake, but either way I'd like to clear this up. 😄
(You can see the AI Content Type via SteamDB or by running app_info_print 3450780 in the Steam console.)

Hi - thanks for stopping by!
Primordial Empire is Gen-AI-free. Artwork is either by myself (units, decorations, UI, effects), commissioned (backgrounds), or free (CC:BY or CC0, all referenced). Same with music/sfx: Some by me, some from free libraries, and some by the fantastic composer @Mihu (HZSMITH), who's in the discord with us. We do QA to ensure the artwork we use/commission is AI-free, and if something feels off, we replace it.

Now you are correct that the flag has been set originally. This was in the first weeks of the Steam page going up - before there was even an internal prototype uploaded - because there was some AI-generated concept art that I uploaded to present something on the Steam page. Back then it was only me - no publisher, no budget, no marketing, and honestly I had no idea what I was even doing. I never thought that PE would find such an amazing audience; it was (and still is) my passion project.

We've come a long way since then and now with the backing of Slug Disco as a publisher, we were able to hire some amazing artists. One of them, Ihor Vitkovskyi, is busy painting the most amazing primordial artwork I've ever seen as we're speaking. See a snippet of his work attached.

Cheers!

@duckaislop.bsky.social I have another one for your list: The devs of 1666: Amsterdam have confirmed that the game currently contains AI-generated assets. They used the classic "temporary assets made their way into the game" excuse and say the assets will be patched out. x.com/PanacheDGame...
A screenshot of a tweet by Panache Digital Games (@PanacheDGames) from 9 June 2025 with the following text:

A number of people have raised questions or concerns to us about whether assets in our marketing and game use generative AI.
We have a dedicated team of over a dozen talented and experienced artists. With them, we looked into the assets in question and found that there were indeed some early versions of assets that made their way into the the prologue. This includes some in-game portraits and external marketing assets.
We are actively reviewing the assets in question. Human made versions will be released in an update dropping soon.
We own up to this oversight and apologize for any upset caused. Please be assured that the Early Access and full game will not include any assets generated by AI.

The saga continues with a likely AI-generated apology, in which the devs officially cancel the contest and express regret for suggesting AI use, solely because people didn't like it, but not because they see anything wrong with it. They also notably neglect to commit to avoiding AI in the future.

Dear Party Animals players,

Regarding the controversy surrounding the recent "Golden Paw Awards" AI Video Contest, we would like to offer our deepest apologies to all players who have expressed concern, shared criticism, and voiced their opinions — especially to our creator community.

Following the announcement of this event, we received a significant amount of negative feedback. We have read through your comments and opinions one by one. We must admit that our consideration of the event's conception was insufficient, the design was inadequately thought through, and our communication with the community was not up to par.

Even though our original intention was to encourage more diverse forms of creative expression and lower the barrier to entry, allowing more players who love Party Animals to participate, we mistakenly tied "lowering the barrier" together with "using AI." In doing so, we overlooked the potential offense and harm that the ongoing debate surrounding AI-generated content could cause to our players and the creator community. We feel deeply uneasy and apologetic about this, and we sincerely accept the criticism.

[Text continued from previous screenshot.]

After carefully considering voices from all sides, we held a vote across our major platforms regarding whether the event should proceed. Based on your feedback and our own internal review and reflection, we have made the following decision:

Effective immediately, the "Golden Paw Awards" event is officially canceled.

To the players who were troubled, disappointed, or offended by this situation, we would like to once again express our sincere apologies. To every player who voiced criticism, participated in the vote, and pushed us to re-evaluate this issue, we would like to express our most sincere gratitude.

Moving forward, we will approach related topics with a much more humble and cautious attitude. Before launching any future community creation events, we pledge to communicate thoroughly, listen earnestly to your feedback, and ensure we have reached a community consensus before deciding whether to go ahead.

Additionally, we will continue to collect, organize, and act upon player feedback regarding gameplay mechanics and other areas. We hereby promise to listen more closely to our players, respect your voices, and maintain a tighter line of communication with the community.

The devs posted an update. A weak non-apology and an attempt to dump the responsibility for what happens with the contest on the community.
A screenshot of a tweet by "Party Animals" (@party_animals) from 2026-05-14 with the following text:

Hi everyone. We’d like to address the recent discussion around the AI video contest, and first of all, we’re sorry for upsetting players with this event. We’re also sorry that we didn’t communicate with everyone clearly enough before the event started.

Our original goal was to lower the barrier to creation. In past contests, we saw players with great ideas and scripts who couldn’t fully bring them to life because they weren’t familiar with tools like editing, modeling, or animation software. We hoped AI could be a more accessible tool that lets more people take part.

That said, we understand the concerns around AI content. We are not trying to dismiss handmade work or disrespect creators. To us, AI is just another tool. What we truly care about is the idea, the expression, and the final work.

We’d like to leave the next step up to the community. Please vote on what we should do:

1. Cancel the AI video contest
2. Change it into a non-AI creation contest
3. Keep the AI category and add a separate handmade category

If you have another suggestion outside of these three options, please feel free to share it as well.

Thank you.

@duckaislop.bsky.social The devs of Party Animals are hosting a genAI-only video contest, which is arguably worse than making genAI promo material themselves, because it basically means they're asking their fans to generate a ton of it for them. x.com/party_animal... forum.partyanimals.com/d/12604

You can ignore entire developers (and publishers), but only if they have a developer/publisher page on Steam. If they do, go to that page, click on the cog on the right and then select "Ignore this creator."

You can ignore entire developers (and publishers), but only if they have a developer/publisher page on Steam, which unfortunately is not the case for Embark Studios. For developers/publishers that do have a page, go to the page, click on the cog on the right and then select "Ignore this creator."

The devs confirmed they use AI. english.elpais.com/culture/2025...
An excerpt from an article reading the following:

Optimizing resources

“We use some AI, but not much,” François Meurisse, producer of Clair Obscur, tells EL PAÍS via videoconference. “The key is that we were very clear about what we wanted to do and what to invest in. And, of course, technology has allowed us to do things that were unthinkable a short time ago,” explains Meurisse. “Unreal Engine 5’s tools and assets have been very important in improving the graphics, gameplay, and cinematics.”
