It’s a cold and sunny weekend here in Prague so I went for a long walk. Did you know you could surf on the Danube? No, neither did I. And the air temperature is about -8 so I wouldn’t like to guess at the water temperature!

Do have a read of this thread. I don’t agree with the idea that this is linked to enabling genocide in the US but aside from that I don’t disagree with the risks highlighted. My personal fear is that this enables the Executive to reintroduce state murder as entertainment.

Tonight’s food came out extremely well - pizza! Three cheeses (vegan cheese is improving, honest!), chilies, peppers, artichokes, capers and olives.

We made home made deep pan pizza for dinner tonight. It is on a cast iron cooking tray and is hot out of the oven. It has a tomato base, three types of vegan cheese (Parmesan, smoked cheddar and mozzarella), red chilies, red peppers, black and green olives and artichoke hearts from a can cut into quarters and it was delicious!)

This EO was issued three days ago. The entire thing is here www.whitehouse.gov/presidential... I have gone back repeatedly to it and this is the section I keep going back to. This states plainly and clearly that in the eyes of the Trump regime, trans people are neither honourable or truthful.

Consistent with the military mission and longstanding DoD policy, expressing a false "gender identity" divergent from an individual's sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service.
Beyond the hormonal and surgical medical interventions involved, adoption of a gender identity inconsistent with an individual's sex conflicts with a soldier's commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one's personal life. A man's assertion that he is a woman, and his requirement that others honor this falsehood, is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member.
For the sake of our Nation and the patriotic
Americans who volunteer to serve it, military service must be reserved for those mentally and physically fit for duty. The Armed Forces must adhere to high mental and physical health standards to ensure our military can deploy, fight, and win, including in austere conditions and without the benefit of routine medical
treatment or special provisions.

This is a section of text from an executive order signed by Trump excluding trans people from being in the military. But more than is, it accuses trans people of being liars in all.

One of the things that makes me giggle when I am in the Czech Republic are the differences between there and the UK. For example rail safety approaches. Yes, that is an exit to the station across the line and yes, that is an opening that takes you to live lines at the main station in Prague 😁

The station at Český Krumlov where to access the platforms you cross the lines. It’s not uncommon to see people who live there crossing from one side to the other - there is no fencing along the rail track.
