David was also a prolific author of sedimentology, paleontology and hydrology papers and until his retirement a few years ago, was a valued member of the #GeologicalSurveyofAlabama. And as you mentioned, he was a decent guy. He was also one of the best supporters of geoeducational in the USA.

I just heard that my first sedimentology mentor #RogerWalker passed away a few days ago. Roger was one of the best sedimentologists on the planet and was one of the main reasons why I had such a positive experience at #McMasterUniversity. Goodnight Roger. You will be missed.

My MS student just defended their MS thesis and is current looking for jobs. Their thesis included population genomics of an invasive forest pest and habitat suitability modeling. Skills included molecular techniques, some bioinformatics, & ArcGIS. If you know of any positions, please let me know!
