The previous round of oligarchs were at least polite enough to build some beautiful buildings. This current set of oligarchs are the worst.

My Google photos app trying to lure me into looking at pics by saying "March looks good on you", but it's a photo of a sharps container that I thought looked like a silly face.

Hey physics teacher 🎢 friends, let's all remember that if you're not explicitly, regularly communicating that everyone has a place and a voice in your classroom, not all of your students will see themselves as having a place and a voice in your classroom #nerdytshirtFriday

It's well past time for everyone outside of Cleveland to celebrate Larry Doby. If you don't know, he was the first Black player in the American League, same season as Jackie Robinson but a few months later (today is anniversary of his debut in 1947) @mgvanwormer.bsky.social

Students explored relationship between energy stored in a group of capacitors, either connected in series or in parallel, versus the number of capacitors. It was a much bigger struggle to write "for every" statements for the inverse relationship than for the direct relationship

This is why AI tutors can't really teach. Finding out what students are really thinking is much too nuanced for AI. All I've seen so far is deficit model attempts to get the right answer. (Apologies for the obnoxious move of screenshotting myself)
A tweet by me: "A student says 'wurmcthe ball leaves your hand it has a lot of force from the throw, but as it rises it loses that force until it gets to the top of its trajectory.'
Does this student misunderstand forces, or have a decent understanding of energy but need some vocab coaching?"

I switched a few years ago to using N/N as a unit for coefficient of friction as I think it fits well with "for every" statements and can refocus on the meaning of the number. Thinking now about further support in rewriting the usual y=slope*x format as explicitly being the ratio of F_fr/F_N 🎢
Graph of frictional force v normal force, a "for every" statement, equation of the line, and coefficient of friction written as ratio of frictional / normal forces

The Pickle Pop is much better than the Blue Cheese. Not sickly sweet, pleasant mass-market pickle flavor. I wish the puckle-ness were amped up a bit though. If you're going to make this drink, why hold back? (Am I really just arguing for someone to carbonate pickle juice? I think maybe yes?)
