Bristol’s fwd dub merchants herald IVM’s debut LP on thehorizon with two cuts of gnashing and screwed industrial dub and witch-house guided by free improv instincts IVM = crackshot drummer, Sébastien Forrester, DJ-producer, Mika Oki, and bassbin mutant, Apulati Bien, all hailing from the Paris-Brussels experimental axis. Their ‘AMDub01’ displays contrasting sides of their sound and what to expect from the trio’s upcoming debut album, with ‘Djnx’ demonstrating a manacled grasp of angular, glitching industrial dub shot thru with rapturous choral pads like something from ‘00s Vladislav Delay records, whereas ‘Utterly Snared’ reels back into echoes of 2010’s witch-house sound - screwed vox, steepled reverb, and lurching drums - done to squashed yet vertiginous effect.
