I was commissioned by @filthyfigments.bsky.social to draw up a BRAND NEW RSS COMIC! With all the Tapas news, I thought this would be the perfect time to post the full comic. This is an up-to-date comic with what I'm using, how I'm using it, and how you can too! #Comic #RSS #Webcomic #Art

Digitally drawn comic with black choppy lines and a purple tone over the colours. The comic is set in space with Jey, a white nonbinary person with short black hair and a chubby build; Ember, a chubby blond white woman with goggles on her head and two heart shaped pigtails; Pomona, a thin black woman with dark purple hair wrapped up in a heart-shaped bun and then in a braid from that. The three of them are sitting in a space ship, all looking at their hologram tablets. Jey says "Hell yeah, that new comic on Filthy Figments" just updated!" Ember looks surprised and asks "WHAA?! How'd you know that? I didn't see it yet!" Pomona responds "Yeah, what's up? I don't see any posts about it on socials." Jey points to their hologram tablet and says "Oh I got the notification on my RSS reader as soon as the page went up!" Ember looks confused and asks "R-what-what?" and Pomona says "Sounds sexy, do tell~" Jey explains "RSS, or Really Simple Syndication", is an update feed for a website. Every time the site publishes a blog post, comic page, or anything else, that feed is updated. Pomona and Ember then ask "Okay cool, but how do we access that feed? I'm no hacker or anything!" Jey points up to the URL of the feed and says "It's really simple~ heh" All you need is: the feed url from the site, usually a button or a link (ie. filthyfigments.com/comic/feed) and a feed reader! Pomona asks "Do you have any sexy ready recs, Jey? ❤️" Jey responds excitedly with "Oh, I sure do! I've tried a whole bunch out, and every reader is a little different so try out a few to see what fits you best." Here's a few I've tried: Feedbro Feedbin (paid, but worth it) Feedly (was good but got into AI) Thunderbird Ukagaka Ghosts (the most fun) Jey presents these to Ember and Pomona and says "I like Feedbro the best for my needs~"

Copy the link and add it to your reader of choice: The image shows a mouse copying the url filthyfigments.com/comic/feed and pasting it into the feed reader, which then turns in to a feed of posts and images for the user. The feed shows blog posts, subscription posts, and image posts by people on their own websites, blogs and a tumblr. Jey shows the finished feed off and says "And VOILA! You've got a feed of JUST the sites you add." Pomona grins and says "Ohh, it looks just like a social media feed~" Ember excitedly clasps her hands together and asks "But-- without algorithms?!" Jey replies with a cheeky little grin "You got it! Your feed reader wont' ever give you posts from sites you don't follow, it'll always be in chronological order and WITHOUT ADS!" Ember throws her arms up in complete shock saying "NO ADS?! Are you serious? SIGN ME UP!" The three are sitting together on the space ship again with their hologram tablets. Ember excitedly says "Hey, I got the update ❤️" Pomona sits back satisfied saying "Ahh RSS is bliss~" A comic by Jey Pawlik jpawlik.com for filthyfigments.com using the site's mascots Ember and Pomona.

Appreciate that the reporter interviewed 2 animation artists here. While we continue to feel the ripple effects of the 2023 strikes, we're also feeling the impact of mega-mergers that continue the trend of dwindling jobs, and the palpable fear of execs trying to bend the knee to this administration

it took a week, but I made a comic interpretation of one of the best moments in the @malevolent.ca podcast, my personal favourite, from episode 40. Dialogue is taken from the #malevolent episode itself. #artpost Spoilers:

a large single comic page adapted from the Malevolent podcast, episode 40.
Arthur, a suit wearing man with a mustache, grips the hand of Noel, a trenchcoat wearing detective with a tie and a 5-oclock-shadow, as he dangles off the side of a massive theater balcony. Arthur is losing his grip as an off-screen ethereal voice commands Noel to "FALL." which he almost obeys, until strange tentacle-like whisps of energy give Arthur the strength to pull him up, rising out of him like steam.
The golden-coloured energy coalesces dramatically into a gigantic godly entity, who goes by John, swirling into place like a stirred glass of glowing yellow dye, cosmic stars float around inside him, he roars with anger, screaming at his adversary, "Yellow", ie the King in Yellow, who cowers behind Larson, a grimy looking man with glasses who he's attached himself to not unlike how John seems to be attached to Arthur.
Noel tries to steady Arthur who seems to be physically taxed by this apparition but John continues, pointing directly at Yellow, who is in disbelief, that this is even possible to begin wtih. John calls his pathetic reach for power weak, and bades him to leave, to seal himself away in his host Larson like a coward, and while impressive and terrifying display continues to sap energy from Arthur as Noel shouts out, Yellow asks how this is even possible, why HIM, why give a damn about this human at all.
John's energy seems to dissipate as he evapourates back into Arthur saying that his power comes from how much he and Arthur support and believe in each other, something Yellow will never understand.

🪸 Howdy! I’m Jordan, a storyboard and comic artist with a passion for magic, complex characters, and nautical vibes. I also have a (on hiatus) webcomic, Red Sky at Morning! 🌊 jordanchase.art 🐚 Art tag: #sscart

a storyboard panel of two characters. The left, a teenage girl, holds a microphone and nervously smiles as the right character, an older woman with plants growing out of her, looms over her and glares

a comic page from a story about Japanese archery students. The main character misses a fired arrow, sighs, then glances at her rival, who smiles over her shoulder. MC looks away, blushing and annoyed. Monologue: "When she catches me in her gaze, I feel that I am the wild thing, not her."

Comic page in which a wizard, Bax, and their gargoyle assistant Gashley run from angry crows. Dialogue:
Gashley: You know any spells you can actually fight with?
Bax: H-huh!?
G: yeah I figured
G: MOVE!!
G: Going higher doesn't protect you from birds!! What's your plan now, great wizard??
