As soon as Thatcher became cosy with Gorbachev and decided that we no longer needed a large military presence, given the 'end of the threat' of WWIII, the rush to reduce the armed forces began. Very little investment, reductions of all resources, ka-ching for private companies followed.

I got talking to an ex-French Army lorry driver in a pub in Calais. His English was shite. My French was shite. We spent several hours propping the bar and having a great laugh, and got proper horsefaced. I haven't a clue what we talked about, but it was a good talk. 🍻🤣🤣🤣🍻

Fellow parents of autistic adults. My son is really struggling. His behaviour has become extremely difficult, to the point where he physically attacked his (much loved) dad yesterday. His stimming is out of control. We are waiting for psych evaluation, OT and nutritionist help. Any advice?

We had a valuable purpose for 'near-beer' in Saudi. Chuck large quantities of the stuff in a bin-sized container, add sugar and yeast, and brew the alcohol back in to it. The base beer could come out at a rather high 7-8% ABV, so serve with added near-beer to calm it down? 😁
