Hello People, I am the woman who is out at the intersection with my sign. I have lived at this intersection for the past 28 years. I am the most effected person by this change. I have been to traffic meetings for the past 20+ years. I have invested my time in slowing down the traffic and making our neighborhood safer for all. Your smug comments are completely out of line when you have no clue about this intersection and how the traffic flows. There have been many meetings about this that I have attended over the years. This 4-way intersection was shoved down our throats because the gov't gave the city the money for four intersections, to be done at the same time, to get free solar lights. We are on a 90 day trail, and it is not working! The neighbors here, protested this original meeting last year and were ignored. NO traffic study has ever been done, even though I have directly asked for one over the past 20 years, time and time again. It was I who had the 2 speed bumps put on Lower Lovell to slow down the cut-through pattern to the college. It was suggested by the 3 homes on the June/Brownell section that we turn it into a one-way. We were happy to change our lives for the greater good and were shot down, and came up with the speed bumps instead. Only 2 members of the traffic board showed up to the stop sign proposal meeting and voted on this item when the room was full of neighbors who did not want this. Neither member who voted that day are on the board today, as this board is only a step up for selectmen, who could care less about the people it affects, it was not their constituents.

These signs have done nothing to stop the racing, so instead of revving up at the 7-11, they are now coming to the front of my home, 10 feet away, and starting the takeoff there. They are still racing to Newtown Sq. It has gotten worse, not better. The noise pollution has gone from level 1 to level 10. We can hear the trucks, buses, and motorcycles screeching to multiple brake stops approaching, and 90% of the loud ones are pissed off and rev up the vehicles even more because they are pissed that they have to stop. The noise is echoing down in Livermore Square. People are not safer either; it has become more dangerous! We were not given the opportunity to discuss other solutions. That are simple and effective: add several speed bumps to June and install a pedestrian flashing sign at the crosswalk. We had absolutely no pedestrian problems when the simple small sign was put up in the middle of the road last year. As for the accident with the teenage girl who broke her hip, most likely stepping off the curb without looking, it happened in 2019, seven-plus years ago. Enough already, give me a freaking break. Worse things happen here in Worcester every day, not seven years ago. In Framingham, they have 6 speed bumps on Edmands Road in one mile, food for thought. Why is this targeting a residential neighborhood? I don't see anyone whining about Chandler and Lovell or May and Lovell! These signs are making my life a living hell! The noise never stops. I will be there fighting for my life, my anxiety is through the roof, my body is stressed, and this situation is ruining my home, my castle, and destroying my home's equity.
