This may change in the immediate future, and I'll likely still pop in from time to time when a new game drops or I find a shiny, but generally speaking you won't hear much from me for a while. I don't know if people will care all that much, but I at least wanted to make a post about it. Thanks! 🩵💫

Hello! I wanted to log on and make a quick post that I’m gonna become largely inactive in the online Pokemon space for realistically the next couple years due to a combination of my college degree ramping up and my rapidly increasing lack of patience with most online Pokemon discourse/ discussion.

maybe, im thinking more OG FF7 mixed with some Mother and Monster Hunter Stories

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 22/08/2026

generally I think that any game that mandates looking at an online database or wiki to keep track of basic information like this has a major flaw in its game desigh philosophy. certainly takes me out of it a bit to have to stop and google something

040

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 22/08/2026

you shouldnt be able to catch a pokemon and then immediately know how to evolve it, all the moves it can learn, etc for gameplay balance, so guidebooks wouldnt even be obsolete you could even add in something like the hint medals in BW2 where you can get a bunch of random data unlocked early

130

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 22/08/2026

the more i think about it the stranger it is to me that the pokedex doesnt act as a way to catalogue game data like moves a species can learn, evolution methods and such like essentially the information theyd print into a guidebook just.. actually in game

only 6 of them are from dolphin, 2 of them are actual gamecubes. but yeah, i have to manually select the windows each time

do you need to link an NNID to Home to transfer from Bank? i thought you just used a code one of the services generates and Wi-Fi connection to transfer up

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 17/08/2026

def braver than me, im setting these up one at a time

010

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 17/08/2026

does this reset just the game, or reset to the nintendont menu/ the whole system itself? i tried using the reset feature in swiss but it resets to the swiss menu instead of the actual game

this is insane?? im so surprised its actually legal

120

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 14/08/2026

yeah its not a definitive solution for sure, but at least from the perspective of something like a ribbon masters it would be a huge help. a lot of the gen 4 ribbons outside of battle facilities are saved for BDSP just because theyre more convenient to get there vs the originals

120

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 13/08/2026

like it was literally the closest thing we will ever get to a DS pokemon game being ported to the Switch but because it was a little ugly and wasnt Platinum theres automatically no merit in pursuing the concept further

070

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 13/08/2026

it sucks that everyone forced themselves to hate BDSP because I think more ILCA-made 1-1 remake/remasters wouldve likely helped the Bank problem quite a bit

we’re lucky if we get Gens 1 and 2 on the Switch one day but genuinely thinking we may one day get Gens 4-7 is bordering delusional, its never gonna happen

1140

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 13/08/2026

assuming we’re able to put them in FRLG from Home, that is..

000

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 13/08/2026

my thinking is why would it not be Mew instead if they werent already planning on letting Mew be accessible via the Old Sea Map

220

dede/ seacreature 🎣💫 @seacreature.standingintheodds.com · 13/08/2026

Spinda and Celebi were two others that came to mind, but with Celebi coming as a FRLG HOME reward and RSE ports supposedly coming out soon they’ll be covered (Celebi isnt easily repeatable whatsoever but its not time exclusive so I assume they count it)

like its nice to get more cool reprints but it is a shame we didnt get something that felt more unique for the 30th

friday thoughts: I think it's important that shiny hunters be vocal about and continue to recommend accessible hunting options like emulation and/or flashcarts for newer folks looking to get into the hobby but think they are unable to due to the high cost of games/equipment they see most ppl use
