Excellent tips for keeping ICE out of your phone now featuring alt text

Android:

Don't give apps your
tracking ID!

One big way your Android phone tracks you is by making up an ID for itself and giving that to advertising companies, which eventually winds up in the hands of investigators. It calls this ID its "advertising ID." In the latest Android versions, you turn off delivery of this by going into the Settings app and navigate to Security & Privacy > Privacy > Ads. Tap "Delete advertising ID."

In older Android versions where that option isn't there you reset it instead, which protects you better if you do it often.

iPhone: Don't give apps your
tracking ID!

One big way your iPhone tracks you is by making up an ID for itself and giving that to advertising companies, which eventually winds up in the hands of investigators. It calls this ID its IDFA, or "ID for advertisers."

Whenever an app asks for this, you can click "Ask App Not to Track" and that app (and the creeps which sweep up information from it) won't be able to follow you! Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking to turn this off for apps you might have already allowed.

You can turn off another tracker by going to Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising and set the "Personalized Ads" switch to "off"

Little stupid Quinte doodle Dante having a little schoolboy crush on Quincy......yearning for his approval in silence 😔💔 #NUcarnival #quinte #dantexquincy

Quick digital sketch of Dante, Quincy and a few of the other clan members at a lake.
Dante and Quincy aren't in the water yet.
Dante is being his usual standoffish self and is telling Quincy, secretly looking for his approval, "that foolish grand sorcerer is up to childish nonsense again it seems
..."

Quincy seems to be looking at the other clan members playing in the water

Quincy is now replying to Dante, he's got an aloof expression, unaware of Dante's little affection towards him. "..Sure..."
Dante is shown to be giddy from receiving a seemingly approving response. He's all blushy and pathetic and damn it I love my boyfailure so much

the #allshipsweek celebrations continue with more ship dossiers, this time breaking down the dynamics within my nu: carnival ot4 🤖🦊💤🦉 (1/2)

Ship Dossier

ship:
kuya + quincy
aka quinya

fandom:
nu: carnival

description:
old friends. one of the longest-running relationships in the game, they’ve seen each other at their best and their worst. bickers like an old married couple. i think they’re tender when no one else is looking

Ship Dossier

ship:
quincy + rei

fandom:
nu: carnival

description:
they’ve known each other for decades. they can enjoy quiet moments together amidst the chaos of their fellow clan members. quincy is a caretaker and rei needs caring for. when rei needs essence, quincy has a fuckton to provide.

Ship Dossier

ship:
blade + quincy

fandom:
nu: carnival

description:
blade is a chronic yapper and quincy is a great listener. their distinct brands of autism are complementary. what’s not to love?

Honestly, there's only two things I dislike about bluesky so far...the fact that I can't turn on notifications for people I follow (resulting me missing some posts) And the fact that if you have more pictures posted....even if you zoom, this arrow blocks your view
