Suffolk Detectorist @sdetectorist.bsky.social · 5hI do wonder what the journey of such a rare coin could have been. A medieval Scottish halfpenny issued under John Balliol (1292-1296) Minted in St Andrews, found in Suffolk, a journey of around 460 miles. IOHANNES DEI GRA CIV ITA SAN DRE 6998

Suffolk Detectorist @sdetectorist.bsky.social · 06/10/2026When I first ventured out in this detecting game I very basically recorded my finds in a "Black n' Red" notebook. This lasted from 1989 - 2005 but was not really satisfactory. When we finally got a PC, recording in a database was soon to follow, and is still going strong today. 1412

Suffolk Detectorist @sdetectorist.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Today I was targeting Roman silver, specifically my only 2 Siliqua find spots, found within a week of each other. Probability tells me there ought to be at least another there, but not today. Have to make do with a penny, halfpenny and a countermarked halfpenny. 0480

Suffolk Detectorist @sdetectorist.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Walnuts in the middle of a field, not a tree in sight. This is down to crows picking them from under a tree, flying to a favourite field, where they will continuously drop them till they break I've seen this in Yorkshire, but they were smart up there, they dropped on the road 1220
